One of the biggest benefits of hiring a local personal trainer is accountability. Whether you hire a female personal trainer for relatability or have a bodybuilding expert visit you at home in Weymouth, you are paying for professional results.
A reputable local trainer should hold at least a Level 3 Diploma. If you are seeking a specialist for bodybuilding competitions, check for additional certificates and ask to meet them to discuss your goals.
A cheap alternative to 1-2-1 training is small group training. By splitting the session fee with friends, you get expert attention for a fraction of the price.

It's very important to get on well with your clients, you spend a lot of time with them or talking to them and you have to have respect and trust going both ways!
Getting to know your clients well means that you know what makes them tick, you know how to motivate them, when to push them and when they need you to back off a little bit. You know when they need that extra bit of support to keep them on track and you understand exactly what they want to achieve.
With the right Personal Trainer you can find a great friend, motivator, teacher and angel on your shoulder.
I love each and every one of my clients! They are all so different but all have one thing in common: They want to push themselves and improve themselves!
All of my clients get a personalised training plan, nutritional plan and all the help and support they could want.
Balance and enjoyment!
You have to find a form of exercise that you enjoy doing and want to do! If you don't enjoy it then it's going to become a chore and it will never be a lasting change. Find something you love doing, be it walking, lifting weights, yoga, badminton or paddle boarding. It does not have to be a daily slog of dragging yourself to the gym to plod on a treadmill for an hour hating your life.
Likewise with food! Find a healthy balance, no one is perfect and everyone has certain foods that are their nemesis. Find healthy, nutritious and delicious foods you enjoy eating and it isn't a diet anymore... It's a lifestyle!
There is, sadly, no quick fix! Find activities and foods you enjoy and incorporate them in to your lifestyle! Pretty soon you won't dread your "diet" or dread your "triaining". You'll do it because you enjoy it!
If you can change your lifestyle for the better ( which you 100% can with the right guidance and support!) you'll be able to achieve whatever you want to!
And enjoy the process!
Seeing people changing week by week.
Yes, I see them physically changing as they lose fat or gain muscle or change their body shape but the most rewarding part of being a Personal Trainer is seeing people coming out of their shells.
I see mothers who have been too embarrassed to wear a bikini because of their mummy tummy discovering the confidence to rock a bikini down the beach.
I see men who have, for want of a better term, let themselves go as they focus on work. They become less stressed, they begin enjoying their life again and you see and hear how their family relationships change too as they discover there is more to life than 60 hour working weeks. They start to prioritise themselves and their families.
I see older people, who have slowly over time lost strength and mobility, come to me and tell me they walked up the stairs without using the banister for the first time in 10 years! For them this is the difference between still being self sufficient or being in a care home in the years to some.
Fitness and exercise and training is about so much more than just how you look, it's about the mental and social benefits. It's about the confidence. It's about being able to do things you never thought you would!
I worked as an employed PT for 5 years in my local leisure centre gym, I loved all of my clients and the majority of them are still with me today.
I was putting in 50-60 hour working weeks plus hours of admin at home plus wokring split shifts 6 days a week.
The gym had always been my favourite place to be, I loved training myself and I loved helping my clients.
But I was starting to get burnt out, the gym stopped being a place I loved, I was operating on auto pilot and not giving my clients the service they deserved so I made the decision limit my working hours, go self employed and move a lot of my business online.
I now have the time and energy to truly deliver to my clients, I got my passion back and have become better placed to help more and more people.
It has been a win win situation for me and my clients!
I am as invested in your journey as your goals as you are as a client!
I have a strong knowledge and qualifications base so have all the tools to help my clients. But more importantly, I know how to make all these tools work for each individual person!
There is no one size fits all solution. Each client has different needs and different goals and has different motivators.
If you don't invest the time and effort in your clients and really get to know them then how can you know how to help them??
You can have all the knowledge under the sun, but if you don't know how to apply it in the right way to each unique client then that knowledge is wasted and your client isn't going to progress!
