Coaching for Confidence (cfc-development)

There are two parts to my business: 1. Life Coach/Executive Functions Coach: I have 20 years’ experience in coaching and personal development, and this is at the heart of everything I do. My passion is to work with individuals to support and guide them to take the first step to make changes and transform themselves. I listen with intent to understand the client and I am always present and attentive to their needs. Whatever the challenge, from developing key EF skills to focusing on motivation and strategies, we work on it together in partnership. Life Coaching is about guidance, empowerment and improvement. Guidance will provide you with the tools and support for you to broaden your perspective and develop a growth mindset. This then enables you to achieve your goals. Achieving great outcomes for you is my goal. With a background in occupational psychology, I use my knowledge and experience to guide and choose the best solutions and strategies for coaching clients. I enjoy bringing coaching sessions to life by using a range of resources and modalities – if you are visual and artistic then we will draw and use storyboards playing to your uniqueness. If you like to listen and hear we will introduce music and sounds to support your learning and development. My approach is client-centred, it is all about you! 2. Executive Coaching: With a background in people and organisational development I work with individuals looking to develop management and leadership capability. My strengths lie in my ability to think strategically, ask incisive and challenging questions and getting to the heart of a problem. I easily recognise and understand behavioural and performance issues and take a practical approach to facilitating change in individuals, team and the organisation. I was previously the Director of Performance and Reward with Orange UK responsible for Leadership Development, Talent Management, Performance Management, Training and Reward before moving to become an executive coach and consultant. I have a sound academic background underpinning my knowledge and this allows me the freedom to choose the best eclectic solutions, be it from business, coaching, psychology or NLP. My qualifications include: • MSc Occupational Psychology (Queens University Belfast) • Certificate in Coaching (Henley Business School) • NLP Master Practitioner I am qualified to use a range of psychometric instruments by the British Psychological Society from a variety of Test Publishers. I find psychometrics when used in combination with other information sources provide a powerful insight into why people make the decisions they make and why they behave in the way they do.

Your professional life coach will be able to advise you on the full range of coaching available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted life coach today.

You can have as many or as few life coaching sessions as you like. Many life coaches operate over the phone or via the internet so the sessions can easily fit around your schedule. Some people hire a life coach once every few months, some people have a session once a week.

Life coaching sessions will typically last up to an hour. Often after an initial assessment, sessions can be conducted over the phone, face to face, over email, via Skype/Zoom and occasionally through instant messaging.

During the session, your life coach will ask you a number of questions, such as what you want to achieve in life, what areas you're unhappy with and where you'd like to see yourself in the future. Although a life coach will work with you, it’s often up to you to challenge or reflect upon certain ideas you have to help you move forward with your life. You will never be forced to make any decisions you don't feel comfortable with and all sessions will be confidential.

Life coaching is focused on your present and your future. Coaching accepts your current reality and looks to improve your outcome moving forward. Life coaches are not health professionals and they do not diagnose you. By contrast, therapy focuses on your past and looks to delve into past actions and patterns. It is analytical but not action-oriented.

Most mainstream health insurance providers do not cover the costs of life coaching because it is not considered a mental health profession in the same way therapists and counsellors are.

Life coaches do not need to have any formal or academic qualifications but you may want to look for life coaches who possess an industry-specific qualification, such as the Life Coaching Diploma or Personal Performance Diploma (PPD).

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark, which shows you reviews from past customers who have used their life coaching services.

A life coach is a trained professional who aims to help and guide individuals to make, meet and exceed personal and professional goals. They support clients on a journey to rediscover their own strength and abilities. This can include excelling in the workplace, becoming happy and fulfilled at home, exploring your potential, managing health conditions and achieving life ambitions.

By harnessing techniques based on core psychological principles and intuition, life coaches empower clients and provide a toolkit of teachings to confidently face difficult challenges and overcome emotional barriers.

Life coaches can specialise in one of these particular areas of coaching: career coaching, executive business, group coaching, health and wellbeing, performance management, personal development, relationships, retirement, spiritual and youth coaching.

Rapport is one of the most important parts of life coaching. If you feel uncomfortable with your professional, you are unlikely to gain much from the session. It is advisable to get in contact before you book a session to meet your life coach so you can gauge how comfortable you are in their presence. It is worth talking to a few potential life coaches and ask questions.

Yes! As long as you have a strong internet connection, then your life coach can deliver sessions via an online video chat platform. Alternatively, it can be done over the phone.
