Starting counselling can feel daunting, so my work is to create a safe, non-judgemental space in which you can feel secure, supported and understood. During our work together, we will explore and process the difficulties you are experiencing. We are all affected by life’s journey and often have deep-rooted, painful issues that can prevent us from reaching our potential and establishing and maintaining healthy relationships. For therapy to be effective, there needs to be a collaborative process between us. It can help to think of the therapeutic process and your journey as a walk through a forest. When starting a walk, you have an idea of where you are heading but might feel lost or unsure of which path to take along the way. As your counsellor, I am there to walk with you and perhaps point out alternative routes we could explore or noticing if we keep passing through the same place. Similar to two people on a walk, for the majority of the journey we will walk side by side. There may be points along the way where the pathway becomes too narrow for us both so one of us will have to lead the way, with the other following for a while. There may also be obstacle along the way, seeming like your path is blocked. I will be there to help and support you to find a way over. Alongside my private practice, I have experience working for Kingston Women’s Centre who offer long-term, low cost counselling to women and Putneymead Group Medical Practice where I see client for short-term counselling and facilitating the group therapy sessions. The diversity of settings have provided the opportunity to work with clients presenting with a broad range of issues including anxiety, depression, abuse, trauma, self-esteem, relationships, stress, bereavement and health-related problems.

What do you love most about your job?

As an experienced Integrative-Relational counsellor I use my integrative training creatively, drawing upon my knowledge of a range of counselling modalities allowing us to tailor the best approach to your specific needs and circumstances. Through my humanistic values I encourage clients to reach their own potential as I believe that we all hold the answers within.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have always had a keen interest in how our state of mind and well-being are interlinked. My journey into psychotherapy began whilst working in a high-pressured and stressful environment where I experienced first hand work related stress and burnout and the impact this has on self-esteem, relationships, and feelings of anxiety and depression. Through this experience, I wanted to work with people who were struggling and feeling overwhelmed and offer support in exploring these feelings and helping them to find their way to a more healthy sense of well-being.

Why should our clients choose you?

I offer a safe, non-judgemental space for us to explore the difficulties you are experiencing and patterns you feeling are repeating and affecting your sense of well-being.
