So, what you really want to know is: how can I help? I am a qualified senior social worker, counsellor (BACP accredited) and supervisor. Prior to this I worked in social work settings in hospitals, with families and within mental health and I have managed a district team of social workers.

I offer a non-judgemental breathing space in which you can put the World on hold and, with no one making demands on you, reflect, pinpoint what’s really troubling you, get to the root cause then choose what, if anything, you want to do about it. I can help with many issues particularly high anxiety, working with couples on their relationship and with those baffled by uncontrollable overeating that, whilst not a full blown eating disorder, non the less feels compulsive, addictive even, with names like comfort eating, emotional eating or binge eating.

Talking when things get on top of you is so important and Claire is brilliant at being that ear! She is knowledgable, caring, very experienced and immediately put me at ease. Being able to talk to someone who is completely impartial, has no agenda and is there for YOU can make a huge difference. Thank you Claire for your time and I hope my experience helps convince anyone who's unsure about whether to seek help.

Or maybe you’re faced with a big life transition and feel lost and uncertain about your future. Perhaps there are things that have happened in your past which are holding you back. I am an Integrative Counsellor. I offer counselling support to clients experiencing difficulties in their life, whether short term; Such as grief, anxiety, redundancy, divorce, relationship breakdown, new parent or depression. Or longer term issues such as low self esteem, lack of confidence, anxiety, depression, trauma, loneliness, just not feeling right, addictions: alcohol issues, gambling, affairs..... I support clients through integrating various counselling modalities; humanistic, psychodynamic, mindfulness, meditation, CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and 12 step work. I work from a therapy room in a Berrylands Surbiton, and Kingston Upon Thames.
I love supporting others to achieve more balance in their life and their view of themselves. I ssuooort clients through self awareness and enabling them to become more self accepting of themselves and where they are in the moment. Working deeply with other human beings is deeply rewarding and I enjoy connecting on that level with others. I have learnt so much about he human condition since being a counsellor and this also supports my own perspective of myself. Ultimately making me a far more patient, content, and accepting person.
Working in the NHS and for other counselling institutions only enable me to work short term with clients. For a lot of my clients a more flexible, less restrictive approach is far more beneficial and transformative for the clients. Therefore working flexibly with them on either short or long term contracts works best for them.
It also means I can work flexibly and see people in the evening or daytime to suit their needs, and balance my other work and personal commitments outside of the counselling room.
I am a very warm and approachable person. I think that I make it easy for clients to feel comfortable talking to me and feedback is regularly given that I make the space safe so that clients can explore issues that they may not want to admit to themselves.
I believe the training that I received was second to none and the continued support I give myself through more training and CPD and through my supervisor and mentor ensure that I am working to the highest standards possible.
I love my job and love supporting people to get themselves to a better place. It is a real privilege.
