David Whittam at Talk to David ltd

Hello and welcome, I am David. I am a professional counsellor who works with adults online, and face to face in the Farnborough and Bagshot areas. If you are looking to explore how you are feeling, in a safe, private and confidential space then I am looking forward to seeing how we might work together on a weekly basis. I hold a counselling diploma, have 4 years clinical experience and am registered in the UK with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow their ethical procedures. I take the ethics of confidentiality, privacy, counselling and your welfare as the building blocks that allow me to offer a space of trust, safety and acceptance within which you will experience being listened to by someone trained to listen and reflect your thoughts and feelings. As trust develops my hope is that you can take the leap of faith and experience being able to say what is on your mind, is surfacing in your emotions, or has been buried deep within. Previous client feedback includes: “Great listener, professional and friendly. Really great and offering different ways of looking at a situation or issue.” Client, Written Oct 2022. I mainly work with those experiencing di-ease, discomfort, loss, confusion or lack of clarity with themselves, their relationships and their life experiences. I am also Boarding school, trauma and addiction aware. I provide my services through my company Talk to David which is a small company in England that provides the professional services of David Whittam - MBACP. Our Mission is to provide high quality online one to one counselling to adults. I look forward to talking to you. Please get in touch

Why should our clients choose you?

I believe that counselling is primarily about the fit between two people. My primary method is to offer you a place of safety within which you can explore, as opposed to using techniques or methods to help you resolve your issue. I would rather there be a level of emotional fit between us such that you would, should you wish, be able to trust me and the relationship between us to the point that you can voice your darkest fears.

Finding who will be a good fit for each of us often involves a period of trial and error. For this reason I offer the first session on a pay - only if you choose to continue to the second session (in which case the second session would be charged at twice the agreed fee)

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes I can provide counselling using the zoom platform. If you are new to counselling I would recommend that we set up a weekly session that lasts 50 minutes and takes place at the same time and day of the week. This allows you to mentally set aside a period of time each week that is focused on yourself.

Working remotely can offer many benefits including reduced travelling time and costs, and a wider choice of professionals
