I work as a Specialist Personal Trainer. I have a private clinic at BWell Gym in Gorleston, where I have access to an enormous array of exercise equipment to choose from. I offer individual sessions or block bookings, and this includes use of the gym. If you need to access the gym for additional sessions, this can be arranged also for at a reduced rate once you are a client. I work best with people who want to learn how to exercise with correct form, not just blast it out. I find this can help reduce the risk of injury and get much, much better results. This means I find I work mostly with three groups of people: 1. Those who are starting out - it can be frightening and you need someone who is understanding of low fitness levels. 2. Those with medical conditions or illness - I deliver clinical programmes for the NHS locally, so I have probably worked with most conditions. 3. High level sports people - I used to be an international athlete myself, and enjoy serious training programmes. All three of these groups tend to require more than a trainer to set up an exercise programme and keep you company.

How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?

My mantra is 'It ain't what you do , it's the way that you do it!'

I try to help people set realistic targets, and work on what the body needs, and try to make it enjoyable.

What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?

Getting the body to move naturally.

I help clients to develop graceful, natural movement patterns using simple exercises, before moving on to more complex activities. I find this helps prevent injury , and teaches people to FEEL what is right themselves. This sets people up for life after Personal Training.

What do you love most about your job?

Helping people reach their Objectives. Whether it be the three clients I have recently got walking after leg, ankle and foot injury; the lady with chronic fatigue who is now in remission; the athlete who has the confidence to race better; the young man who can get into jeans 2 sizes smaller and now looks hench; every clients goals are my goals whilst I work with them.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have been self employed as a trainer since 1998, and every day I have new challenges, with new clients and new objectives. Frankly I love my job too much to do it for anyone else!
