It's rewarding to see students progress from being uncoordinated, shy, unbalanced and unfit to being more confident, stronger and going on to help,others who enter the dojo as they did when they started.
My eldest son has a global developmental delay so I wanted to try martial arts to improve his abilities. Sadly, the classes that were around then did not facilitate someone with his needs or any learning disability (nor physical) for that matter. So I was determined to create classes either solely for people with special needs and/ or to have fully inclusive for people whatever their level of physical or learning ability.
I do not profess to be the best out there! There are so many classes across the country to choose from. More important for you to find an instructor that you are comfortable with, they have some level of experience, they possess a decent level of people skills and a structure within their classes. I have been teaching for ove 13 years now and my students seem to be very happy!
