I went for an initial consultation with Jackie at a very low point in my life when I was experiencing a severe episode of anxiety for the first time. I decided to give hypnotherapy a go after an excellent explanation of the process. I felt very comfortable with Jackie and her treatment room created a peaceful ambience. The whole experience was not easy for me and I faced a few personal challenges during the treatment. However I gradually began to change my mindset, and learnt how to use breathing to relax. The experience of each session combined with the tape I played every night as I went to bed helped to change my mindset and I finished the course relaxed, re-energised and with a renewed positivity. Many thanks to Jackie and I would highly recommend her.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a combination of talking therapy and hypnosis. Clients gain an understanding of how their brain work and why they think, feel and behave in the way they do. The majority of clients work with me for 8-12 weeks either face to face sessions or online. This form of therapy does not revisit the past and supports the client to move forward in a supportive way.

How much do Hypnotherapists cost?

Your professional hypnotherapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted hypnotherapist today.
How does Hypnotherapy work?
Firstly, you'll have a conversation with your therapist to discuss what you hope to achieve and agree on what methods your therapist will use. Afterwards, the hypnotherapist may lead you into a deeply relaxed state using agreed methods to help you towards your goals. For example, suggesting that you don't want to carry out a certain habit gradually bring you out of the trance.
You are fully in control when under hypnosis and don't have to take on the therapist's suggestions if you don't want to. If necessary, you can bring yourself out of the hypnotic state. Most people expect to be put to sleep or to forget what happened afterwards but the opposite is true. You're fully aware the whole time of what is happening.
How long will each Hypnotherapy session last?
This is dependent on both your hypnotherapist and your circumstances. One-off services such as smoking cessation or gastric band hypnotherapy can last around two hours, while a general hypnotherapy session will usually take about an hour.
How many sessions of Hypnotherapy will I need?
The duration of therapy will really be dependent on your circumstances and issues. Some people may require a longer-term approach with regular weekly sessions. Your hypnotherapist will let you know how many sessions they feel you might need when you start therapy and will be flexible when it comes to decreasing or extending the number of sessions according to your progress and needs.
What should I look for in a Hypnotherapy professional?
There are currently no guidelines in place stipulating the training and qualifications a hypnotherapist must have in order to practice. Industry guidelines recommend that individuals should have completed at least an appropriate diploma or have completed a course that involved a minimum of 450 learning hours, of which 120 hours must have been face-to-face.
You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their hypnotherapy services.
What are the benefits of Hypnotherapy?

It can help with anxiety, depression, anxiety, PTSD, obesity, addictions, fear of flying, public speaking, stopping smoking, insomnia, weight loss amongst others. When combined with methods such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), valuable healing work can begin as quickly as one or two sessions.
