‘19 Certificate of Excellence

Hello and welcome to my page. I offer a safe, non-judgmental counselling service dedicated to helping those who are experiencing challenging times in their lives. I know how hard it can be to ask someone for help but taking the first step in accessing support is a huge achievement. Building on this, we will work together to promote positive growth and change because I believe there is a solution to every problem and together, we can find it. Please get in touch if you need me to listen to whatever seems troublesome. I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), specialising in domestic and sexual violence and with over eight years of professional experience with both children and adults, we will create a safe space to explore whatever it is that's concerning you and make the impossible possible. Fees £55 for a 50 minute session. However, I offer concessions to tailor to your individual needs e.g. students, unemployed, debt etc. Please do not hesitate to contact me regarding prices and I will do my very best to ensure your needs are met

What do you love most about your job?

What I find most enjoyable about my job is how rewarding it is to know that I have been able to help someone with their difficulties. I especially Love building therapeutic relationships with my clients knowing that they feel safe and comfortable enough to share their struggles with me. Trusting someone you hardly know can be really hard, however, I will always try my best to empower, inspire, support you and to maintain a positive working alliance. I encourage feedback and if you need clarity, I will aspire to do my very best in doing so.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I am very passionate about supporting people with their struggles in life and endeavour to help alleviate them. I was inspired to start my own business so that I could have the flexibility to work around my family and to accommodate clients whether they require day, evening or weekend work. I do my upmost best to try and see clients within a short timeframe as I understand how difficult it is to carry concerns or issues for a period of time which prolongs the issue of concern. I like working independently with monthly supervision as a requirement by the BACP and I attend as many CPD workshops and seminars in order to stay up to date with regulations.

Why should our clients choose you?

As your therapist, I believe that warmth, skill, understanding and empathy are essential qualities in my approach. I want to create a safe environment where my client’s story is heard and respected, where his or her goals are understood, where emotions and thoughts can be expressed in depth, and desired change can be facilitated and supported. My priority is to support you as we work to understand your individual identity and to alleviate your distress. I will encourage you to find your own solutions for positive change with regard to your unique circumstance. I strive to make my clients feel valued and understood by focusing on their strengths and validating who they are. Managing our feelings and building our communication skills are vital processes that continue throughout our lives as we encounter new circumstances. A secure and confidential counselling environment can help so much in healing and self-development. Clients seek therapy for many reasons, including relationship difficulties, bereavement, or wanting to improve the way you deal with everyday life. I continuously aspire to give my client's a first class service which I believe is important when they confide and place trust in you.

Counselling FAQs

Your expert Counsellor will be able to advise you on the full range of services available and will be able to advise on what is most suitable. Use Bark to get free quotes and schedule an appointment today.

At your appointment, you will be encouraged to talk about your feelings and emotions with a trained Counsellor who will listen and support you without judging or criticising.
The therapist can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes and find your own solutions to problems. However, they will not usually give advice or tell you what to do. The Counsellor might sum up what they understand you have been saying so that they can help you to form a plan of action.

Counselling can take place in a number of ways. These include:

  • Face to face session

  • Group session

  • Phone session

  • Email session

  • Online through live chat services or video conferencing software

You may be offered a single session of Counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.

It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your Counsellor.

You can be confident that any of the Bark local Counsellors listed will give you a reliable and efficient service to help you feel better.

You could look for Counsellors that are accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) which means that they have met the PSA’s required professional standards to practise.

Before you choose a Counsellor, you could read testimonials and read details of the issues they can help with on their website.

You could also look at their profile page on Bark and check out reviews from past customers too.

Counselling can help with many issues. These include the following:

  • Mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or eating disorders.

  • Physical health conditions such as infertility.

  • Difficult life events such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown or work-related stress.

  • Dealing with difficult emotions such as low self-esteem or anger.

  • Sexual identity issues.

  • Divorce.

  • Redundancy and work issues.

  • Phobias and fears.

Absolutely! Many Counsellors provide their services remotely via an online video call or the telephone. Not only is it more convenient, but it's also the preferable option for many people who would feel more comfortable holding the session from the comfort of their own home.
