Talking to Peter has been an amazing experience. I was personally looking to get a different perspective in a few situations of my life and this is exactly what I’ve achieved with Peter so far. It is incredibly comfortable to talk to him and so easy to open up and share my thoughts and experiences and he’s made me see things in such a different light. He is great in identifying patterns or building up a picture from my scattered thoughts that somehow puts it all together and it all makes sense. Likewise, he identifies those things that I may not have realised from situations and gives a totally new perspective or highlights different ways in which to understand situations, issues and behaviours. He is also a person that listens without judgement and I feel like he genuinely has my best interest at heart. Its been a few weeks and I can already sense a change in the way I approach situations and my behaviours, and most of all, in the way I see things. I feel so much lighter and motivated after each session with Peter and I can’t wait to see all the positive effects that working with him will bring to my life! Thank you Peter for all you do, I totally recommend him!!!

Faye is a thoughtful and effective counsellor who quickly understands the nature of a problem or problems.
She was able to give me a lot of extremely good advice and feedback regarding my own issues.
She also outlined a number of mental techniques to be used alongside the advice.
I am feeling better now, though many of the things we talked about will take some time to fully process, but that is the nature of the game.
So yes, i can definitely recommend Faye as a counsellor.

I have been attending 1:1 sessions with Sally since autumn 2019; Sally creates a relaxed and open-minded environment which helps you feel it is 'your space' to explore whatever may be coming to mind. Sally encourages flexibility, both through using different creative outlets/tools each session to help unlock contemplation, and also if the sessions take a different direction then that's OK too. I find the sessions very valuable, honest, and a key part of continuous development for my own mindset.

I am working remotely with clients during this time, I can provide phone and online video counselling. I work as an integrative therapist, which means I am trained in and incorporate the three main psychotherapy approaches in my practice. I work with Couples, Families, Adults and Young People with their Relationship and Personal Issues. Our relationships help to shape us and if they are mostly dysfunctional, negative or lacking in some way, we will look elsewhere for relationships that offer what we need. Problems in our relationships will also impact our physical and psychological health and emotional well-being, Hence the development of anxieties, depression, and physical ailments. Not all relationships are meant to last forever, some friends, partners, family or work members come into our life for a short time, and others for longer but each will have an impact on us...this, in essence, is my work. www.brft.co.uk
Relationships/Families bring two or more people together who are all separate and unique individuals with different ways of viewing the world developed by their cultural influences, religious beliefs, education, aspirations and parental conditioning. These values and beliefs are bound to clash causing stereotyping, misinterpretations, assumption-making, critical judgements and labelling as time goes on. I work with these different aspects so that each can empathise with the other's perception and point of view.
I enable people to see their issues, problems, and dilemmas from a variety of perspectives and provide specific communication skills, strategies, interventions and collaborative ideas to 'shake-up' their habitual ways of thinking and relating with their partner, parents, family members or friends. By doing this they can make more self-directed decisions that are less life-limiting and/or dysfunctional to become their best selves, reach their potential and develop their confidence and self-esteem.
I wanted to be my own boss and build something meaningful for my family and for my immediate community.
I'm passionate about my work, I give one hundred per cent of my energy and focus and because I am a specialist in the area of couples and family relationships.
How much does Counselling cost?
Your expert Counsellor will be able to advise you on the full range of services available and will be able to advise on what is most suitable. Use Bark to get free quotes and schedule an appointment today.
What should I expect from my Counselling session?
At your appointment, you will be encouraged to talk about your feelings and emotions with a trained Counsellor who will listen and support you without judging or criticising.
The therapist can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes and find your own solutions to problems. However, they will not usually give advice or tell you what to do. The Counsellor might sum up what they understand you have been saying so that they can help you to form a plan of action.
Counselling can take place in a number of ways. These include:
Face to face session
Group session
Phone session
Email session
Online through live chat services or video conferencing software
You may be offered a single session of Counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.
It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your Counsellor.
You can be confident that any of the Bark local Counsellors listed will give you a reliable and efficient service to help you feel better.
