Berkshire Relationship & Family Therapy

Berkshire

I work with Couples, Families, Adults and Young People with their Relationship and Personal Issues. Our relationships help to shape us and if they are mostly dysfunctional, negative or lacking in some way, we will look elsewhere for relationships that offer what we need. Problems in our relationships will also impact our physical and psychological health and emotional well-being, Hence the development of anxieties, depression, and physical ailments. Not all relationships are meant to last forever, some friends, partners, family or work members come into our life for a short time, and others for longer but each will have an impact on us...this, in essence, is my work. www.brft.co.uk

What do you love most about your job?

Relationships/Families bring two or more people together who are all separate and unique individuals with different ways of viewing the world developed by their cultural influences, religious beliefs, education, aspirations and parental conditioning. These values and beliefs are bound to clash causing stereotyping, misinterpretations, assumption-making, critical judgements and labelling as time goes on. I work with these different aspects so that each can empathise with the other's perception and point of view.

I enable people to see their issues, problems, and dilemmas from a variety of perspectives and provide specific communication skills, strategies, interventions and collaborative ideas to 'shake-up' their habitual ways of thinking and relating with their partner, parents, family members or friends. By doing this they can make more self-directed decisions that are less life-limiting and/or dysfunctional to become their best selves, reach their potential and develop their confidence and self-esteem.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I wanted to be my own boss and build something meaningful for my family and for my immediate community.

Why should our clients choose you?

I'm passionate about my work, I give one hundred per cent of my energy and focus and because I am a specialist in the area of couples and family relationships.
