Hi I'm Grace! I am a London seamstress and designer with over 20 years experience in dressmaking and embellishing. My little home studio is in Lee, SE12, South East London and is very well connected to central London via public transport (including a train to London Bridge/Waterloo East and Charing Cross every 15 minutes). I am available for: Alterations Designing and making bespoke bridal gowns General dressmaking Resizing and restyling Veils, fascinators and accessories Bridesmaids dresses Special occasion outfits Mother of the bride/groom outfits Holy Communion and christening gowns for children Vintage clothing and vintage bridal repairs/restyling Beading and embellishing of existing garments I also make unique accessories including, brooch and button bouquets, clutch bags, fascinators, textile bowls and fibre art using reclaimed fabric. I make bespoke hairpieces and restore original vintage accessories. I have a vast collection of vintage lace, fabrics, trimmings, beads and other lovely bits and pieces and I pride myself on being as eco friendly and zero waste as possible. From the first consultation, through to selecting fabrics and embellishments, the fitting stage and carefully handcrafting the dress/garment, I enjoy working with my clients to create their dream outfit.
I have a wealth of knowledge and experience in dressmaking and understand how important it is to make sure garments fit correctly.
From the age of about 7, I dreamt of designing and making wedding dresses and handmade clothing in London. I love to design, create and embellish and enjoy working closely with clients - and choosing my own hours!
I am able to do general alterations that do not require fittings. Garments can be dropped off to me by prior arrangement in a Covid safe/contact free way.
