What do you love most about your job?

Being a Counsellor and Psychotherapist is more than just to me, it is a chosen vocation that I chose to do later in life and take great satisfaction to be in a position where I can make a difference.

It is so gratifying to be in a position to play a part in improving an individual's emotional and mental health.

To see someone move from sadness and despair to a place of reduced anxiety and improved self esteem is something I find very rewarding.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Many years ago my best friend tragically took his own life and on that day my life changed forever, along with those of his family and loved one.

After his passing I wanted to gain a better understanding of how poor mental health can have such a dreadful impact on someone, and also how I could cope with my own grief.

This led me to become a volunteer with The Samaritans and started me on my path to becoming a Counsellor and Psychotherapist.

Why should our clients choose you?

Prior to agreeing to take on a new client I offer a free phone consultation (30 minutes).

This is to help ensure that I am the right counsellor for you, and also to answer any questions you may have and gain an insight into your concerns.

As a middle-aged, male Counsellor I also bring many years of life experience to my therapeutic practice, which I believe can enhance the counselling relationship, and this experience has proven to be invaluable in my practice.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

If this was requested it is something I would consider.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

My Counselling Room in East Kilbride Village room is well-ventilated, and is cleaned on a regular basis.
