I came to Angela 12 months ago following an horrific bereavement. I was unable to function and was absolutely lost.
Angela was professional and radiated pure empathy and compassion and helped me to feel safe enough to share some of the most vulnerable parts of my pain and self.
After some time of holding my trauma, horror, grief and pain which was extremely messy, Angela helped me to set some small goals. I started to take care of my physical needs and move from denial and shock into a place where I was more ready to look at other ways to add tools and skills to my emotional toolbox.
Angela has helped me off the floor of absolute despair into a place of beginning to see that I can find a purpose.
I bath regularly, eat mindfully and take care of myself with gentle prompts if I begin to slip.
Angela is very skilled and catches things just outside of my awareness for us to look at together. There is never any pressure to go beyond what I am able but gentle challenges of self discovery.
I share my journal with Angela and she responds with feedback and insight, thoughtfully and with deep reflection, this has helped my confidence to be able to write.
Writing, for me has been a powerful tool in the therapeutic process, it's something we agreed together because that was what I needed.
We have even enjoyed some laughs.
Angela truly is a person centred therapist and has held the most unimaginable trauma and continues to do so.
She completely embodies Carl Rogers 'unconditional positive regard'.
We do deep work together.
I'm challenged appropriately, never feel judged and feel completely safe to share the good, the bad, and the downright ugly.
I would recommend Angela to anybody, and she has proved to be an incredible grief counsellor for me.
I'm also a trained counsellor and needed someone with enough experience to meet me at my level of understanding and point to my 'head knowledge' and help me to integrate that during and following the most unimaginable tragedy.

Oh Heidi,it’s been an absolute privilege to work with you. Your kind words mean so much to me,seeing you now and witnessing the tragedy you have been processing, proves what a strong woman you are Heidi. Now that you are starting to acknowledge your worth and manage your pain is such an inspiration to me! You truly are one of the strongest women I have ever met Heidi. Thank you for allowing me to walk beside you whilst you work through your grief.

Q&As

Seeing people find their voice, realising that they can manage whatever is going on in their lives.
I wish I had a video I could take of a client's first session, then show them that in their last session,I am considering doing this, taking a video, because I love seeing the growth in a person,in a very short space of time aswell.
When a person has a space to talk,be heard, and understood, its amazing the transformation they can make in a few weeks.

I wanted to be in control of my own schedule and I also wanted to be more in control of my own boundaries regarding my client work.
When I work for an employer I feel controlled by their rules and regulations.
I liked the idea of having full autonomy over my work.

I have a lot of experience working with people from all over the world, plus different client groups in the 20 years I have practiced as a Counsellor.
I offer a non judgemental attitude with strong empathy,so they can look forward to feeling comfortable quickly.
I have regular supervision every month which makes sure that I am a safe practitioner.
I have my own therapy every week, which allows me to address my own challenges, then allows me to stand at their side supporting them to address their issues.
They won't be disappointed.

I provide my services online and remotely.
The client can have their Counselling session in the comfort of their own home and by a number of different platforms.
Skype,Teams,Zoom,Facetime,Whatsapp,etc etc.

I don't see clients in my home so this question isn't relevant.
