Julian Howlett-Turnet
I have recently started counselling with Anna, as I had come to the realisation that my mind and thought processes were somewhat skewed, in many areas of my life.
Anna has really helped with clarification and confidence on what I now see as my main sticking points. I no longer have to keep quiet to feel safe. That my opinions and feelings matter, and that it is important, no, essential to have boundaries and to assert them. That I have needs, the same as everyone, and that it is ok to ask directly for them to be met. Your needs cannot be met, if no one even knows what they are. I’m just a couple of sessions I have found the confidence to meet the issues in my life head on. I’m the space of 1 week I have spoken to my Father about feelings I have never confronted in nearly 50 years, my daughter about how I feel rejected, and my ex wife on how we have not had closure after a 17 year relationship.
I can’t thank her enough, and I am aware this is just the start of my journey in pursuit of a more fulfilling and joyous life. Even when I feel I have reached a place of security within myself, I will endeavour to ‘check in’ every 6 months or so, as I believe this is a healthy way forward in my pursuit of understanding myself properly.
If you are considering counselling, I can’t recommend Anna enough. Yes, it’s scary to potentially express your innermost fears, but she is kind and caring, and I felt provides a safe environment where I can begin to heal. Thank you so much for helping me along my journey

I love to explore unique and complex personalities. In therapy I encourage each layer of a client's character to emerge as I believe it is only when every part of us is seen and accepted can we begin to heal. I am passionate about learning to live from a place of love, not fear and I do this by using the core conditions from Person-Centred therapy (unconditional positive regard, empathy and congruence).
I enjoy therapy and the difference to makes to someones life. Everyone needs counselling even if they don't realise it. To sit with a stranger and develop a therapeutic relationship is something never experienced in day-to-day life. The difference between a relationship with friends and family and with your therapist is that a therapist accepts you, the first impression, the parts you love but also the shadow parts of yourself that haunt you at 2am. A therapist will not question whether something is true, a therapist looks at the affect it's had on you.
I am a registered counsellor and work within the BACP Ethical Framework.
Begin therapy with me to have growth and become whole. Give yourself the opportunity for awareness, trust in yourself, more control over your actions. Being whole means being able to defend yourself when you need to, but also be able to drop those defences to meet the world with an open heart. We can spend the sessions being curious about you to learn the mysteries of your soul.
I work with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, family counselling, social anxiety, self-harm, low self-esteem, perinatal trauma, postnatal depression, baby loss and dealing with a history of sexual assault.
I offer weekday appointments, with evening sessions available on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Call or text me on 07482 043064 for an informal chat.
I provide online services nationwide via Zoom. I believe remote counselling works as well as face-to-face counselling and it makes therapy more accessible to everyone.
