The average price of a Tutor
I have taught English as a Foreign Language in groups, and 1-1, in both London and Hong Kong. I recently gained a Distinction in the Cert IBET course at International House in London which I took to refresh my knowledge of teaching English, and to hone my skills in teaching English to business people. I successfully helped a friend gain the IELTS, and I have taught English as a volunteer at Asylum Welcome in Oxford.
Definitely a 5 star service. We contacted Tutorious to get some extra help for our son who was struggling with A Level Philosophy. Julia's depth of knowledge, informal teaching style and enthusiastic and inspirational coaching enabled him to join up the dots and foster a renewed interest and subsequently love of the the subject. When he first arrived at Tutorious he was getting low to average grades in Philosophy...a year later, he achieved an A* in his A Level. We can't thank you enough.
I am an experienced teacher offering supply, private tuition and outdoor education services in the Oxfordshire area.
I offer private tuition in Physics (to A-Level), Science (GCSE and KS3) and Maths (to GCSE, A-level Mechanics only). I'm experienced at working with pupils preparing for CE and for Oxbridge entrance.
I'm also a qualified outdoor instructor and can offer indoor and outdoor climbing lessons.
Jamie provided an excellent mock interview for my son who was applying to Oxford. He prepared the interview questions with great care and gave helpful and encouraging feedback. My son was consequently able to approach his Oxford interviews with a lot more confidence, which I am sure contributed to his success. I'd definitely recommend Jamie to anyone in a similar position to us.

I am a trained Suzuki violin teacher. I am also an experienced and qualified tutor of mathematics and sciences particularly physics and medical sciences.
Teaching is something that has drawn me back again and again until I've finally got it through my head that it is what I love doing most and the common theme linking my many interests. It is a very satisfying form of problem solving.
I spent 6 months in this school and it was so difficult to say goodbye. This school is just great!! So nice, kind and professional teachers. I love them all. All staff is great there. Always ready to help you! If you donť speak English- go there, if you do- go there anyway. It is a really good experience, you can find new friends from the whole world and have a great time!!
Having found mechanics and stats second nature, I found the wind knocked out of me at my inability to get my head around Pure maths functions like Cot, Cosec and Sec. Mr Gibbon's tutoring had me comfortably rearranging and solving trig equations with the same ease as finding coefficients of friction.
Thanks Mr G!
Repeat business across the educational levels has to be the best measure of the quality of David's tutoring. I am happy to say that after getting me through my A-level maths, David’s endless patience and enduring skill as a teacher is making the complexity of statistical modelling in my Criminology degree fall into place. I cannot recommend David and Oxford Tutors to you highly enough, the service is excellent and the dedication you will receive is absolute. Thank you.

Of course any job you enjoy is also hard work. It's the challenge I enjoy. Every student is different, and that's an interesting fact. But dedicated and personal attention is required to ensure their success. This means preparing the right tutor and matching the student well. That's essential groundwork, which is followed through by periodically overseeing the tuition, and continuing dialogue with the parent and the student concerning progress. What I love about the job is when we hear of an improvement in the the grade and outlook of students. The cases where we can see very specifically how our work has transformed the student's achievements are the most motivating.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I graduated from Oxford University in 2006. That was hard work, especially as I completed my degree in 2 rather than 3 years. The main difference at Oxford compared to other Universities (this was my second degree so I could make a direct comparison even then) was the one to one tuition. It was this tuition that really enabled me to question and engage - a necessity in order to really grow academically. Since then I have tutored a wide range of subjects, and have often seen students improve two whole grades following tuition. One student after a relatively short period of instruction actually improved five grades. His mother even said to me, 'What have you done to him? He's completely different.' In some voluntary work I undertook I saw students go from hating a subject to loving it in quite a short space of time. However, in general the work I undertook was long term, day by day instruction. More recently I have seen my own daughter reach 2 years beyond her age in English, Maths and Science as a direct result of one to one tuition. I was and am inspired by the influence of one to one tuition. It has worked historically and continues to work today!
Why should our clients choose you?
I believe the tutor expertise we offer to students to be world class, and I hope my answers to the above questions explains that. Few if any tutorial agencies can offer the depth of ability and instruction that we can offer students at Oxford Exclusif Tutorial Agency. Because of this I am confident each time we take on a student. After careful consideration of them individually, I know we can make a significant difference to their academic performance.
