I've been running my own businesses since I was just 17, and bring my 15 years of first hand experience into working with my clients. For the first 8 years of running my businesses, I really ran them the 'wrong way' - working very long hours, doing everything myself, with very high stress levels and managing an erratic sales and cashflow cycle. In time I burnt out and caught glandular fever which, because I was unable to take time out from the business to properly rest, then developed into post-viral fatigue leaving me physically unable to work for 6 months. This was where my interest in high performance started as I researched how I was going to produce the same results in 20-30hrs a week that had been taking 80, and after a couple of years of successfully implementing these tools and strategies myself I realised that I really wanted to help other business owners to do the same and avoid many of the pitfalls that I had hurtled into, and that's when I made the move into coaching. What do you love most about your job?

I love seeing my clients reconnect with their business. Often when they first come to work with me they're feeling overworked, stressed, overwhelmed, tired, busy and unrewarded, and they've started to disconnect from, or even resent, their business, so watching that change as they start to see that they can have the business they first set out to achieve, and watching their confidence and enjoyment grow, is really rewarding.
On a more personal note I love having the flexibility to live my own ideal work-life balance - picking my hours to suit me, working from home and having time for my family and just working at my own pace.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I sort of fell into my first business to be honest. I started making jewellery as a hobby when I was in my first year of college, and by the time I left college it had snow-balled into a business. However, from those very early days what I fell in love with most about business was the freedom it gave me to design my lifestyle and what I wanted it to look like - to work when I wanted, where I wanted and how I wanted, I always loved that flexibility.

I've lived and breathed the business owner lifestyle my entire adult life, the ups and the downs, and I've learnt a lot of lessons the hard way. I've been through the journey - worked too many hours, tried to do everything myself, managed erratic cashflow and a feast-famine sales cycle, so I bring a lot of experience and a lot of empathy to my work with my clients. I'm a firm believer in working to live, not living to work, and I'm passionate about helping my clients create the business that's really right for them and that supports their lifestyle goals.
