‘21 Certificate of Excellence

I work with people of all ages to overcome what I like to call the stuck factor or writers block in their lives. It's quite a broad term, but when we're stuck we can feel angry, withdrawn and far from happy. I help people who are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stress, depression or sleep deprivation, leaving them feeling stuck, lost and or under confident and in need of a helping hand to get back in control of their lives. You may in need of general help, or you may have a specific issue to tackle, or just one health issue thats getting you down, we can work on what ever you want each session - they are yours after all! I work flexibly working from early to late and also online, so I can usually fit clients in around their schedules. I may sound busy, but I only see a limited number of clients a week so I can continue with volunteer work elsewhere. Some of the specific issues I work with are below, if you don't see what your looking for, I may have missed it off the list or I can certainly point you in the right direction. Fears and Phobias Pain Management Anxiety Easy Quit Smoking Sessions Weight Management Working with Children PMT Sports & Fitness Hypnosis Business Success Hypnosis Public Speaking Eating Disorders Depression Stress OCD PTSD IBS Exam or School Nerves Panic attacks Fertility Hypnobirthing Chronic Pain Relationships Hating a job or career Feeling lost or under confident

What do you love most about your job?

I love watching clients change from shy, tired and unhappy souls to blossoming characters who are ready to take on the world and able to cope with whatever they put their minds too. It's so rewarding facilitating that change and knowing the changes they make now will stay with them for life. We work quickly too, much faster than many other therapies, so the rewards come very quickly.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I used hypnobirthing techniques when I had my children, and after a motorbike accident, I was left with nerve damage in my leg. I didn't realise it at the time, but I started using the pain management techniques I'd learnt from hypnobirthing, and eventually learnt to control the pain, allowing my to stop taking pain medication.

I taught for 10 years, and saw the effects that poor mental health has on both adults and young people and wanted to make a difference in their lives, a difference I was already making by using Solution Focused Therapy techniques in the class room.

I'd seen so many colleagues and students break under the stress and worry they were unable to cope with and after teaching many of them different solution focused coping techniques, I decided that I should spend more time helping people who felt lost or hopeless.

Why should our clients choose you?

I'll make you smile, I won't make you cry and you'll start the feel the changes very quickly. Together, we don't need to look at the past, we work on helping you cope with life now, giving you tools to work towards your goals.

I'm also in the 20% most qualified Hypnotherapists in the country, I hold a Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma awarded by the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH), and also a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH) and should I wish, I'm eligible for membership of;
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice (GQHP) qualification awarded by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council
and
National Board for Modern Psychotherapy (NBMP)

Hypnotherapy FAQs

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the hypnotherapist holds.

Your professional hypnotherapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted hypnotherapist today.

Firstly, you'll have a conversation with your therapist to discuss what you hope to achieve and agree on what methods your therapist will use. Afterwards, the hypnotherapist may lead you into a deeply relaxed state using agreed methods to help you towards your goals. For example, suggesting that you don't want to carry out a certain habit gradually bring you out of the trance.

You are fully in control when under hypnosis and don't have to take on the therapist's suggestions if you don't want to. If necessary, you can bring yourself out of the hypnotic state. Most people expect to be put to sleep or to forget what happened afterwards but the opposite is true. You're fully aware the whole time of what is happening.

This is dependent on both your hypnotherapist and your circumstances. One-off services such as smoking cessation or gastric band hypnotherapy can last around two hours, while a general hypnotherapy session will usually take about an hour.

The duration of therapy will really be dependent on your circumstances and issues. Some people may require a longer-term approach with regular weekly sessions. Your hypnotherapist will let you know how many sessions they feel you might need when you start therapy and will be flexible when it comes to decreasing or extending the number of sessions according to your progress and needs.

There are currently no guidelines in place stipulating the training and qualifications a hypnotherapist must have in order to practice. Industry guidelines recommend that individuals should have completed at least an appropriate diploma or have completed a course that involved a minimum of 450 learning hours, of which 120 hours must have been face-to-face.

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their hypnotherapy services.

Hypnotherapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with anxiety, depression, anxiety, PTSD, obesity, addictions, fear of flying, public speaking, stopping smoking, insomnia, weight loss amongst others. When combined with methods such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), valuable healing work can begin as quickly as one or two sessions.

You might be surprised to hear that hypnotherapy can be delivered remotely over the phone, through an online video chat platform, or with pre-recorded sessions sent by email.
