Janie Toynton Hypnotherapy

I am a qualified Solution Focused Hypnotherapist, specialising in Anxiety management and other emotional health difficulties. I have a private practice based in Beverley SFH is a recognised talking therapy combined with hypnotherapy. It is based on the latest developments in neuroscience and is known to be highly effective for a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, OCD, stress, insomnia, low confidence, trauma and symptoms of menopause. It is also effective for phobias, stopping smoking and weight management. I have worked for the NHS in mental health for the last 13 years, I am also an RGN and IAPT trained. I have previously worked as a midwife and a health visitor. SFH is a very gentle, non intrusive form of therapy, during which you will feel safe and be in control at all times. I offer this wonderful relaxing, effective therapy in my bespoke purpose built "hypno hut" or online if you prefer. initial consultation is £35 including my hypnosis download track, which can help sleep and reduce your stress levels. Subsequent sessions £70 per session. MARCH OFFER, 10% off when 7 sessions purchased as a bundle, making the cost £441 rather than £490. SFH works quickly compared to other forms of therapy, with 6-12 sessions usually needed, except for phobias (4) and smoking (1x2 hour session costing (£150). I am fully insured and have an enhanced DBS. REVIEWS-I support my clients with their privacy and confidentiality, therefore do not expect them to give public reviews. I do have some on Google business and can provide further anonymous testimonials if requested. Please see my website for more details. Thank you for looking , Janie

What do you love most about your job?

Been able to help people and see how much they enjoy the benefits that SFH can bring to their lives.
When people come to see me they have often tried different types of therapy and I love how quickly they see the changes they are making.
The comments from people when they get off the couch following trance are both heart warming and humbling. It is a privilege to be able to offer such a relaxing effective therapy to my wonderful clients.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have worked in mental health for many years and I began researching how I could develop my private practice in a way that would be non threatening, non challenging and effective. Luckily I came across the Solution Focused Hypnotherapy training offered by the Gold Standard training provider CPHT. This gave me the opportunity to add the new skill of hypnotherapy and to enhance my skills in talking therapy also.

Why should our clients choose you?

I am currently the only Solution Focused Hypnotherapist in my locality.

SFH uses elements of cognitive behaviour therapy, Neurolinguistic Programming, Solution focused therapy and trance.

I also bring my previous life skills and employment history, which includes training as a RGN, RM, RHV, BSc Community Nursing, IAPT training and 13 years working in children's mental health.

I offer a holistic relaxing, safe and therapeutic environment or online therapy.

I have an enhanced DBS, I'm fully insured and accredited by the AFSFH.

Your comfort and wellbeing is my up most priority and SFH has a very effective success rate compared to other forms of therapy.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I can offer face to face therapy or online via zoom

Hypnotherapy FAQs

Expand all

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the hypnotherapist holds.

Your professional hypnotherapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted hypnotherapist today.

Firstly, you'll have a conversation with your therapist to discuss what you hope to achieve and agree on what methods your therapist will use. Afterwards, the hypnotherapist may lead you into a deeply relaxed state using agreed methods to help you towards your goals. For example, suggesting that you don't want to carry out a certain habit gradually bring you out of the trance.

You are fully in control when under hypnosis and don't have to take on the therapist's suggestions if you don't want to. If necessary, you can bring yourself out of the hypnotic state. Most people expect to be put to sleep or to forget what happened afterwards but the opposite is true. You're fully aware the whole time of what is happening.

This is dependent on both your hypnotherapist and your circumstances. One-off services such as smoking cessation or gastric band hypnotherapy can last around two hours, while a general hypnotherapy session will usually take about an hour.

The duration of therapy will really be dependent on your circumstances and issues. Some people may require a longer-term approach with regular weekly sessions. Your hypnotherapist will let you know how many sessions they feel you might need when you start therapy and will be flexible when it comes to decreasing or extending the number of sessions according to your progress and needs.

There are currently no guidelines in place stipulating the training and qualifications a hypnotherapist must have in order to practice. Industry guidelines recommend that individuals should have completed at least an appropriate diploma or have completed a course that involved a minimum of 450 learning hours, of which 120 hours must have been face-to-face.

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their hypnotherapy services.

Hypnotherapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with anxiety, depression, anxiety, PTSD, obesity, addictions, fear of flying, public speaking, stopping smoking, insomnia, weight loss amongst others. When combined with methods such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), valuable healing work can begin as quickly as one or two sessions.

You might be surprised to hear that hypnotherapy can be delivered remotely over the phone, through an online video chat platform, or with pre-recorded sessions sent by email.
