Ellipsis Counselling

Do you feel as though something in your life isn’t right? Maybe you’ve found yourself at a crossroads, unsure of where to go next. You might want support with reaching a decision, or facing your past. You might be looking to address relational or behavioural patterns, or want someone to help you cope through a current crisis. It might be none of those things. It could be difficult to explain, and others don’t seem to understand:- all you know is that you don’t want to feel like it anymore, and you want things to be different. As the name Ellipsis suggests, I want to help you break the silence. It can be really difficult to open up to someone about something that is deeply personal, which is why I will take the process at your own pace, offering a non-judgmental, impartial and confidential environment. You are free to disclose as much or as little as you wish, and you are free to leave or return to therapy at any time. Tell me your story.

What do you love most about your job?

Meeting new people, and not knowing who is going to walk through the door, or what they will bring. For every new client I meet, I learn something. I love to hear each person's story, and what has made them who they are. Every person, situation and experience is different.

What inspired you to start your own business?

My aim for setting up a therapy practice was to provide help and support to those who are struggling with life's challenges. I like having the freedom to be flexible, and to work only in the interests of clients without having to apply agency policies first. It is a much more natural encounter.

Why should our clients choose you?

I am qualified to masters level as an integrative therapist, which means I am trained in a number of approaches to therapy, and I merge these theories to create a unique way of working, tailored to suit you and your needs. I have experience and/or specific training in dealing with a range of topics such as:
Life crisis
Relationship issues
Defence mechanisms/coping strategies
Sexual abuse
Anger management
Family conflict
Learning difficulties
Asperger’s syndrome
Relational patterns
Career dissatisfaction
Self-harm & suicide
Psychosomatic symptoms
Weight loss/weight gain
Negative/intrusive thoughts
Self-confidence and body image issues
Parenting/child-related issues
Post-natal depression
Personality disorders
Domestic abuse
Illness/health issues
Aggression & violent behaviour
& others

I am also a registered member of the BACP and follow their ethical framework.
