I started DISCOUNT PLANS 15 years ago after working in various structural engineering offices in central London at the age of 18. Mostly in freelance positions, changing from job to job at a yearly rate. I quickly lost my motivation working for big bosses looking for profits constantly. I decided I needed a change and wanted to help MY clients in a way that would benefit them. I saw a gap in the market where I knew I could make a difference. Every day I saw clients being treated badly by these companies I was working for. These high street company’s were taking advantage of the naive client’s which did not know the process, adding hidden fees, charging for endless amendment’s, charging for additional drawings, charging 5 times the amount I actually charge to my clients today for simple bog standard designs.
My company hit it off when the 2008 recession came in when home-owners were not prepared to pay £5000 for a loft design, instead going for us the technical draughtsman at a mere £950 with drawings being designed at a higher standard than the RIBA high-end ARCHITECTS. Our name spread instantly, home-owners were getting more educated by all the daytime TV programmes being screened such as, HOMES UNDER THE HAMMER (which we were filmed on in 2012) explaining the methods of using smaller architectural designers to get the job done at a third of the price. A big thank you also for the editor of IDEAL HOMES which listed our company’s services for recommended best designers!
