Hello! I'm Lydia. After spending a year as a full-time teacher in the education system, I have made the decision to seek a better work-life balance with tutoring. I believe this balance actually makes me a better, more stable and well-rounded educator. Indeed, as a creative person, I think it is essential for young people and adults to be able to express themselves and pursue their personal interests in order to maintain good mental health. I am looking to support young people in their education following a very tough few years during the pandemic by catering to their individual needs and interests. This means exploring how they learn as individuals, and engaging them with content that they will personally enjoy in order to access the curriculum.
I love seeing students become enthused with learning as they grow in confidence and understanding of themselves.
I am a great believer in catering to the needs of the individual and fostering creativity. I find the national curriculum - and the approach of schools - a little stifling, and prefer to be in charge of my approach and resources for each individual child.
I will communicate your child's progress effectively and regularly, and work with you to understand what your child needs in order to succeed.
Both. I am willing to drive to students' houses localls (my postcode TQ12 3EE) and I will discuss this option with clients beforehand. If the student lives a little too far out of my catchment, I am more than happy to conduct sessions online using Microsoft Teams.
I started this business following the major outbreaks, but will still be happy to use a mask and hand sanitiser if that makes the students/parents/carers more comfortable. Alternatively, I am happy to work remotely through Microsoft Teams.
