CJWood Photography - Beginner Courses

Chris offers a range of photography tuition to suit all cameras and abilities from single day courses, one to one tuition as well as photography walks along the Hampshire and Dorset coastlines and New Forest. His "Camera Confident" Part 1 & 2 day courses are designed specifically for beginners or anyone who simply wants to brush up on their skills and knowledge or leave that "Auto" setting behind. The course will guide you through the principles of photography and how to control the camera to get the sharp action shots or beautiful soft backgrounds. Chris will break down the complicated jargon into simple to understand, managable parts to ensure that you can use your camera to it's fullest potential all in the comfort of a relaxed and easy to follow day with plenty of practical time allowing you get to know your own camera. One to one tuition allows for a more personal approach focusing on any specific photography scenarios you would like to concentrate on. Throughout each month, Chris shall be holding photography walks to various photogentic locations with unique challenges letting you sharpen those skills whilst building your own portfolio of spectacular images. Photography walks include "Full Moon & Stary Sky" evenings, "New Forest Landscape Exploration" and "Urban Portrait" sessions. For further information or to book on to any of the photography courses or walks please take a look at the website: CJWoodPhotography.co.uk Alternatively contact Chris directly on 07784246800 or Chris.Wood@CJWoodPhotography.co.uk

What do you love most about your job?

I utterly love seeing the moment of joy on people's faces when suddenly all the confusion around photography disappears and the pure photographic creativity is able to flow. This is the reason I love teaching such a marvellous subject and watching everbody's unique perspective through the lens develop.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Whilst I have been teaching photography classes for the past 5 years in Glasgow and Edinburgh, I have recently made a new life on the South coast. Wanting to continue to share the wonder of photography, combined with the truly amazing scenary found in this area has driven me to start my own business.

Why should our clients choose you?

20+ years of photography covering almost all genres of photography as well as retail work as camera specialist has given me a wide range of experience and a familiarity of cameras which many photographers have not have.
My patient and logical nature allows me to break down complex ideas and explain them in a simple (but non patronising) way to a variety of levels.
After 5 years of teaching photography courses I can fully appreciate everybody's unique learning style and have built a course which caters for all.
