How important is a healthy diet to someone’s health and wellbeing?

It is paramount...
What you eat matters... especially if you are dealing with a particular health concern.. what you eat can make the symptoms better or worse.
But in general terms of health and wellbeing..
Your gut has an important role to play in digestion, metabolism, excretion of waste and absorption of nutrients .. BUT it's also really important in the production of hormones like serotonin. The feel good hormone.

What do you love most about your job?

My colleagues... Each of us have a passion and fire for a particular field that we specialise in and we bring this energy to work each day.
I also really enjoy working in a scientific environment, we are constantly learning and adapting our protocols and approaches to new scientific data.
My area of specialism is in skin.. I really enjoy the journey that the client and I go on together, I also think it can't be underestimated how skin conditions can affect overall levels of confidence socially and at work.
We also have sleep, cardiovascular, diabetes, menopause and many more specialists - always ask when you email in.

What inspired you to start your own business?

For both Fran and I (co founders) we have always known that diet and lifestyle make a massive impact on health...for the better and for the worse.
How you move, how you sleep, how you think and how you perform can all be influenced by diet... what else is more powerful than that?
We are as people... invested in making positive change for our clients, the satisfaction we get from helping our clients make diet and lifestyles changes for the better is rewarding to us as individuals. That's why we do... what we do.
We see complete transformations over a few weeks to a few months - what's not to love about that?

Nutritionists & Dietitians FAQs

Your specialist will be able to advise you on the full range of services available and will be able to help you select the best treatment for your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a specialist today.

Dietitians are the only health professionals regulated and protected by law. Registered Nutritionists can provide evidence-based advice and information about food and healthy eating. Nutritional therapists provide alternative treatment, based on the idea that the body needs 'healing' and 'correcting'.

  • Credentials - Find a specialist that has the credentials to support your personal needs.

  • Experience - Ask how long your Dietitian or Nutritionist has been practising and look up their background.

  • Gimmicks - Check your specialist is not supporting an unsuitable diet brand or supplement.

  • Right fit - Make sure they are upfront in the areas they specialise in and are able to make referrals if your needs are outside their comfort zone.

The minimum requirement for a Dietitian is a degree in Dietetics or a related science degree with a postgraduate diploma or higher degree in Dietetics. Nutritionists should have attended a course which is accredited by the Association for Nutrition (AfN).

Before you choose either a Nutritionist or a Dietitian, you could read testimonials and read reviews on their website. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and read reviews from past customers too.
