Nutritional Therapy What we eat and the activities we carry out on a daily basis impacts on our bodies at a cellular level as well as psychologically. Body and Mind are connected much more than we are consciously aware and we must learn to nourish and nurture both in a holistic approach to achieve optimal health. Nutritional therapy is a holistic individualised approach to diet and health through nutrition, lifestyle and supplementation where appropriate. The aim of nutritional therapy is prevention as well as supporting adverse health conditions. It can also be used to optimise health and general well-being, as well as help you to lose weight. Nutritional therapy requires motivation to make changes- it is not a short term fix. However with guidance and direction, every small change will help you towards your longer term goals. Personalised Health Programmes: A personalised health programme is for you if ..... - You have health niggles or concerns - You have current symptoms you wish to address - You are concerned about family history - Your doctor has recommended that you improve your diet How can I help you? I offer personalised health programmes designed to support you over a period of time in achieving your health goals. Programmes usually run for a period of 12 weeks to help guide and coach you to ensure that the changes you are beginning to make, become the norm for you. I spend time with you, getting to know you (your diet and lifestyle) and working with you to define and help you to reach your goals. Health and wellness coaching will help to keep you on the right track on your journey to health and vitality. All programmes include: - An initial personal consultation (60-90 minutes) to assess current health, diet and lifestyle. This includes assessment of a detailed case history/ health questionnaire. - Personalised and practical nutritional and lifestyle plan. - Current medication and nutrient interaction evaluation if applicable. - Supplement recommendations if required. - Recommendation of clinical tests/ GP referrals and interpretation of results if applicable. - Coaching sessions/ mini progress review calls to help keep you motivated in achieving your health goals. - Follow up consultations to review your progress and support you. These can be face to face, by phone or Skype. - Email support. - Menu and recipe ideas. The main difference between the programmes offered is the level of support you will receive from me, whether you require it on a fortnightly, weekly or bi weekly basis. For more information on these, please visit my website https://www.trueyounutrition.com/nutritional-therapy Fees start from £295 and are dependent on the level of support preferred as well as the length of the programme. Regarding consultations, these can be held at my clinic space in South Woodford, in the comfort of your own home (locally) or at my home in Romford. How important is a healthy diet to someone’s health and wellbeing?

A healthy diet is so important for everyone's health and well-being! It is our foundation, the simplest things we can change that can make such a difference to how you look (physical health), and more importantly, how you feel (mental and emotional health). As Hippocrates once said, "All disease begins in the gut".
In the society we live in today, it is vital that we start to make the necessary changes to both our diet and lifestyles to ensure that, no matter how long we live, those years are in good health to enjoy it!

What do you love most about your job?

I really do love what I do!
I love working with people to help them to overcome whatever health related issues they are trying to deal with. And most importantly, I love when they get the results that they want! Whether that is lowering their cholesterol levels, trying to get pregnant or simply losing weight (and flourishing from all the other benefits that come with it!!), to help them to achieve this is just amazing! Education and empowering others is my passion!

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have been teaching Food & Nutrition for the past 13 years however after my own health taking a bit of a dip, I seeked out the help of a Nutritional Therapist and I was hooked! With her help I managed to overcome several issues I was struggling with, however I wanted to understand more about the 'why' these suggestions were helping. So I enrolled at the College of Naturopathic Medicine where I undertook 3 years to become a Nutritional Therapist... and I loved every minute of it.

Why should our clients choose you?

By all means, you don't have to choose to work with me, however, no matter whether you do, I would strongly urge you to take control of your health and to get the help necessary to get you on your journey. After all, you have come this far.
If however, you would like to work with me, please be assured that I am committed to all of my clients, in a professional and respectful manner. I will help you to decide what your health goals are and we can work towards them as quickly or as slowly as you feel comfortable with. If I feel that you require more specialist help, I will happily refer you on to other specialists in the correct field of health.

Your specialist will be able to advise you on the full range of services available and will be able to help you select the best treatment for your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a specialist today.

Dietitians are the only health professionals regulated and protected by law. Registered Nutritionists can provide evidence-based advice and information about food and healthy eating. Nutritional therapists provide alternative treatment, based on the idea that the body needs 'healing' and 'correcting'.

  • Credentials - Find a specialist that has the credentials to support your personal needs.

  • Experience - Ask how long your Dietitian or Nutritionist has been practising and look up their background.

  • Gimmicks - Check your specialist is not supporting an unsuitable diet brand or supplement.

  • Right fit - Make sure they are upfront in the areas they specialise in and are able to make referrals if your needs are outside their comfort zone.

The minimum requirement for a Dietitian is a degree in Dietetics or a related science degree with a postgraduate diploma or higher degree in Dietetics. Nutritionists should have attended a course which is accredited by the Association for Nutrition (AfN).

Before you choose either a Nutritionist or a Dietitian, you could read testimonials and read reviews on their website. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and read reviews from past customers too.
