Registered dietitians are qualified to assess, diagnose and treat dietary problems or nutritional needs. They also tend to help clients with special dietary requirements or medical conditions. To be a dietitian, you’ve got to be registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC). Many dietitians work within the NHS as opposed to privately, although you can still find private dietitians to help advise you on your eating habits. Whereas nutritionists are more likely to be the ones advising on weight loss or sport nutrition. Nutritionists can be registered with the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists (UKVRN), but they don't have to be.
To become qualified as a nutritionist, I had to complete a course run by the UKVRN. After completing the course, I became qualified as a registered nutritionist. This means that all my clients can check my qualifications and experience online. Clients can therefore be confident in my abilities, as they know that I'm qualified under a trustworthy organisation.
Weight loss is the most common reason that new clients come to me. They often find it difficult to know how to get the right nutrients into their diets without feeling hungry or unsatisfied. But over the last few years, I’ve had more and more people coming to me with IBS-related issues. I think that's because more people are recognising the symptoms of IBS and are getting diagnosed. They then come to nutritionists or dietitians for guidance on how to alter their eating habits to help relieve their symptoms.

Wow! Just the initial assessment was impressive. They were very comprehensive about my fitness goals. The physical abilities test was in itself a workout and they were so encouraging throughout the whole process. The session was also very educational. We discussed body types, nutrition, and types of exercises. Highly recommend!

Vicki is clearly very gifted and talented professional. She just has a way of helping others that is pretty remarkable. I like how organized she is, how many resources she provides and how communicative she is. There is something to say about losing 15lbe in 5 weeks after wanting to lose weight and attempting on my own For 10 years to no avail.I came to a point of complete defeat and sadness and finally decided i needed to ask for help. I decided to give it a true honest effort. Unlike any of my efforts before. I’ve followed the program to the best of my ability and in 5 weeks I have lost 15 lbs. I appreciate the knowledge she has to share. I’ve learned so much and become much more in tune with what is good and not good for my body. The program was intimidating at first but I have adapted and have benefitted physically and emotionally. Meeting Vicki was meant to be and I feel like I am just getting started. I picked the most encompassing package because I wanted the text support which has been a great help for shopping and times when I have cravings or need clarification on the program. I also appreciate her understanding toward days where I did veer of the program as she knows life is life and things happen, but they have all been unique learning experiences and I’m grateful for that.
