My approach to counselling owes much to my own life experiences. My training and qualifications are important, though not as important as my commitment as a concerned fellow human being. I have a real understanding of just how difficult life can be and how sometimes we may need help. Above all, I appreciate how important it is to be heard and not judged. Counselling enables us to express our thoughts and feelings in order to make positive changes. Change may seem difficult and frightening to you right now, it need not be. With help you can make those changes.
My chosen profession enables me to help in ways that really make a difference. I have witnessed profound and positive changes in my clients. When you reach a level of understanding of what matters to you and how your life can be happier and more fulfilling, I am reassured that what I do is more than just a job.
I've always known that being heard, regarded as an individual and not judged is vital to human development and emotional wellbeing. When being really heard myself, and accepted for who I am my life changed immeasurably. I wanted to share this in a way that is not restricted by bureaucracy, the stigma of labels or the influence of a will other than that of the individual
I am am highly qualified, ( BA, first class honours degree) and experienced humanistic counsellor/psychotherapist. I have a deep seated passion for what I do. I revel in the success of my clients. I have the determination will and resilience to help you through what may be a very difficult time for you and your loved ones. I can help you to achieve a more fulfilled and happier life through greater understanding and awareness of your problems.
How much does Counselling cost?
Your expert Counsellor will be able to advise you on the full range of services available and will be able to advise on what is most suitable. Use Bark to get free quotes and schedule an appointment today.
What should I expect from my Counselling session?
At your appointment, you will be encouraged to talk about your feelings and emotions with a trained Counsellor who will listen and support you without judging or criticising.
The therapist can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes and find your own solutions to problems. However, they will not usually give advice or tell you what to do. The Counsellor might sum up what they understand you have been saying so that they can help you to form a plan of action.
Counselling can take place in a number of ways. These include:
Face to face session
Group session
Phone session
Email session
Online through live chat services or video conferencing software
You may be offered a single session of Counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.
It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your Counsellor.
You can be confident that any of the Bark local Counsellors listed will give you a reliable and efficient service to help you feel better.

Before you choose a Counsellor, you could read testimonials and read details of the issues they can help with on their website.
You could also look at their profile page on Bark and check out reviews from past customers too.
