I love how photos capture a very specific snapshot in time. A particular moment or a specific emotion. I find it fascinating and love being able to use this passion for my job. When I was younger I couldn’t get enough of wildlife photography, and I don’t think I’m the only one. As my skills developed, I realised that I was particularly good at capturing the emotions within images, which naturally led me to wedding photography.
I work all over the country, but because I am based in Chelmsford I tend to do a lot of events in Essex and nearby places. There tends to be a lot of weddings in the Epping Forest area because it has a lot of very picturesque places, but I am very flexible with locations. If I need a team, I tend to use freelancers who I’ve worked with before, so we’re all very mobile.
Just look at my portfolio! I have a degree in photography and over a decade of experience working as a professional freelance photographer. I really try to take photos that you haven’t seen before. Nothing makes me happier than for a bride and groom to choose images that you wouldn’t usually see. It justifies the effort that I put in to make sure that the flash is in the right place, I have the right lenses, and the editing of course!
