What makes a great website?

This answer is two-fold...

A great website must do more than meet client expectations.
A good web designer should be able to understand what the client really needs and bring that vision to life.
But this is only the first stage.

The best websites do far more than just look good. They are designed to achieve SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound).
Many web designers think that their job is simply to make a site look good and be responsive, but what they should REALLY be doing (before even starting) is asking the right questions so they can provide not just want the client wants, but what the business needs!

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

All potential web design clients complete a project application. This allows me to get to the core of what the client wants AND what their business needs are. Questions include...

What service/product does your business offer?
What are your top SMART goals (e.g 20% increase in sales in the next 6 months, improve conversions by 10% within 3 months)?
Who is your ideal customer (age, gender, interests, where they hang out online) - We can help with research?
Why would they visit your website (check prices, get product info, find contact details etc)?
How should people feel when they interact with your brand (Safe & secure, edgy & excited, cool & exclusive, a sense of belonging)?
Who else is competing for your ideal customer?
Are there any website you particularly like (what do you like about them)?

These questions (and others) are carefully designed to ensure we provide a website that actually delivers a return for your investment (rather then simply something that looks nice).

What do you love most about your job?

The reward of seeing a clients reaction when they see their website for the first time.
It's at that point that the trust they placed in you is proven and they really start to enjoy the rest of the process, now they are safe in the knowledge that their expectations are being met and exceeded.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Having provided SEO services since 2007 and building 100's of websites (both on a part-time basis) I then used that knowledge to build my own online E-commerce business selling premium personalised gifts.
After seeing my work I was commissioned by acquaintances (who have since become good friends) to build an E-commerce website for their new coffee business along with a digital strategy for driving traffic and sales.

Upon completing this project I realised that (apart from enjoying the process itself) I was in a unique position in that I'd been where the customer was.
I knew how to drive traffic and build websites that convert that traffic.

In 2018 I sold my business so I could go full time into Web Design and Marketing. It's an exciting new chapter and I'm loving every minute of it.

Why should our clients choose you?

If you just want a website that looks nice then you probably shouldn't choose me.
If you want somebody who's going to take the trouble to find out what your business really needs and deliver a website that is built to achieve specific goals that give you a return on your investment then that's where I come in.

It doesn't matter how good your website looks if it doesn't improve your business. I can help you achieve that (and measure those achievements if required).
I can also provide on-going client care and support services from SEO to Social Media Management and Content Creation/distribution. Digital strategy sessions are also available.
