GB Solar were great as a company to work with. Gareth was our first point of contact and answered all our questions in a clear easily understood manner. An initial quote was provided and when we requested alternative configurations, these were provided very quickly. We were put under no pressure at all to sign a contract and the installation date was down to us as well. The scaffolding was installed for the day before the three man installer party arrived. Half of the work was completed on the first day with the system installed on the first day without hiccups. The last panels were fitted on the second day and commissioning of the system completed just after lunch that day. The weather was against the two panel fitters as they had to endure some of the hottest days we have had this year. The roof tiles were extremely hot and so I couldn't blame them for taking regular pauses. There was no mess left and we could see electricity generation up completion by way of the software they installed on laptop and phone. Subsequent queries were answered swiftly and we would be happy to recommend GB Solar to anyone looking for a reasonably priced system without the pressure presented by some other companies.

In 2015 I was sold, or I should say mis-sold a solar panel system for a business address, the company had the backing of Barclays partner finance. I was promised massive reductions in electricity bills and substantial tax-free FIT payments direct into my private account. The 20-year financial projections made this a no brainer, and with backing from Barclays what could go wrong.
Well, everything went wrong, my electricity bills were unchanged, and the FIT payments were a small fraction of what was promised. The company that fitted them disappeared and I was left with a 5-year battle with Barclays. After a small compensation was paid to me, which was a fraction of the cost of the panels, Barclays washed their hands of me, and I was left with a pile of junk on my roof making no money and it was going to be expensive to dispose of them.
Steve Allen from FDG Group came on the scene. He explained that basically the panels had been placed incorrectly, a lot of them were in the shade, and the installation had been poorly done. He explained he could move the panels to a different roof top and correct the instillation. I was very sceptical and did not really want to spend more money on solar panels.
Steve gave me a very good price, I put my trust in him, and he made it happen. The panels were re-sited, and the installation looked very tidy when the job was done. Excellent service well carried out, if I could give 6 stars I would, and this is why.
When the panels we first fitted in 2015 my electricity bill was unchanged. Before the panels were relocated the monthly direct debit for electricity was £250 per month. The bill for the premises now is £85 per month. This is offering a saving of just under £2000 a year. After FDG Group “fixed” my system my September FIT payment has just been paid to me and it was £508.53. For the same period, the average September payments for previous years have been £284,35. My FIT payments have almost doubled.
