The team at GB Solar Ltd. installed our solar system, battery and car charging zappi earlier this year. From the moment we contacted the company their customer service has been exceptional. GB Solar were great as a company to work with. Gareth was our first point of contact and answered all our questions in a clear easily understood manner. An initial quote was provided and when we requested alternative configurations, these were provided very quickly. We were put under no pressure at all to sign a contract and the installation date was down to us as well. The scaffolding was installed for the day before the three man installer party arrived. Half of the work was completed on the first day with the system installed on the first day without hiccups. The last panels were fitted on the second day and commissioning of the system completed just after lunch that day. The weather was against the two panel fitters as they had to endure some of the hottest days we have had this year. The roof tiles were extremely hot and so I couldn't blame them for taking regular pauses. There was no mess left and we could see electricity generation up completion by way of the software they installed on laptop and phone. Subsequent queries were answered swiftly and we would be happy to recommend GB Solar to anyone looking for a reasonably priced system without the pressure presented by some other companies. More...

I think you have to do your homework when deciding on which system and battery you want and that means plenty of research. Once I had the information I wanted I began to look for installers. Many of the companies out there seem to charge a lot and give you a discount on the price. That kind of tactic makes no sense to me. GB solar were the last company I contacted and as soon as I spoke to Gareth I knew he was the person I could speak with openly and he wouldn't baffle me with science. The information provided by Gareth was expansive and easily understood and the system wasn't Chinese. He recommended a solaredge inverter with 14 fully optimised 400w panels. This would be connected with a Givenergy 8.2kwh battery system. A system I had my eye on before contacting Gareth. The situation with the world meant it took five months of the system to be fitted. I took two days and the fitting team were very very good and explained what they planned before they made a start. On commissioning the system one optimiser was faulty so they went out and replaced it there and then. The apps are easy to use and the system has been working beyond my expectations from day one.
