Solar installation still doesn’t work after 6 weeks and Eco Roof and Wall want to charge me nearly £4,000 to put it right. • The first dates of my installation came and went without anybody turning up nor anyone from the company calling me to advise that they couldn’t meet the dates. I had to chase their team for a second set of install dates. • The solar panel installers were friendly and efficient. The electrician had not been briefed with information about the install and hadn’t been given the right cabling. He was friendly and worked hard but neither he nor the other two members of the team who arrived to troubleshoot were able to leave the system in a working state, although at the time they did tell me that it was finished. • Having asked for a microinverter system with a storage battery, the salesperson specified a battery which is not compatible with the app that monitors the solar panels, something that only became apparent once the equipment was installed. Although afterwards the team told me that they thought this was strange when prepping the equipment for delivery, they went ahead and installed it anyway so I currently have two apps which each show a part of the system, making it impossible to monitor effectively. • After complaining in writing to various members of the team, including directly to Anthony Harrison the MD, I have mostly been ignored. The only time I receive any response is when I chase over the phone, having to call several times throughout the day before somebody picks up the phone. Anthony Harrison is still yet to respond at all. • The salesperson called me during the process to argue that I had signed the contract with the equipment listed, insinuating that I was responsible for the wrong battery being specified. This is not the case, I am not a solar installer and I wonder if Eco Roof and Wall expect all their customers to research and ratify the compatibility of the system specifications for them before installation. Certainly, they have been incapable of doing it correctly themselves in this instance. He also told me to stop giving them deadlines for responses, as they were busy with orders for other customers. No requested timescales for responses to my complaints have been met to this date. • After finally agreeing that they would replace the battery with one that is compatible with the rest of the system, and after much chasing again, Eco Roof and Wall then tried to charge me the full price of nearly £4,000.00, saying that they couldn’t take the original battery back as it is now classed as used and that they’ve stopped installing them. • What should have been an exciting project on our journey to a more sustainable home has been stressful and a thorough disappointment. I would say 1 star was far too much for the way the after care has been with this organisation. Following my ASHP install I have had nothing but trouble trying to get anyone to deal with some issues I reported almost a year ago. They seem to have a high turnover of staff and when speaking to the staff false promises of people dealing with my requests. I real lack of communication and aftercare. Give this company a wide berth of you are considering investing in an ASHP the aftercare is atrocious. More...

A great solar panel installation company - talked through pros and cons, good supportive team in office, headed by Ash. Install, when carried out, was smooth and efficient. 4 stars given as lots of install dates were rearranged - but Ash was communicative and helpful. EWI - External Wall Installation Pleasant, well informed sales team. No pressure, and happy to answer any questions. Once work started, contactors were on site early in the morning, and worked straight through. Weather played along to, and stayed dry while the first fix cured. Recently had solar panels and battery installed by The Eco Roof and Wall Company- very happy customer. From the initial sales survey, presentation and follow up information, through the installation and aftersales service, everything has been spot on! The salesman was helpful, provided concise information and at no point did I feel pressured to sign anything or order anything. The pre-installation survey resulted in a slight change to the design to improve output from the system. Communication was clear and timely, with scaffolders, roofers and electricians all turning up as promised. The installation itself was completed in a timely fashion and everything was left clean and tidy at completion. After completion and following some heavy rain, I noticed a leak in the roof. Upon reporting the problem the roofing team returned the following day, identified and repaired the problem. Really can't ask for any more! Overall, I would definitely recommend. More...

We were very impressed with the customer service from the whole team, especially James, who made sure things progressed before installation, Dan and Ash, who have put up the panels in very tricky conditions, their excellent electrician Tom and Steve, who kept us in the loop very efficiently and kindly. The Eco wall and roof company installed a heat pump and solar panels at our house. Overall the experience was positive, everything works as intended and the service care has been excellent. Chris, in particular, has always communicated quickly and clearly to make sure our system is working. The price was also competitive. We had a few setbacks with the installation which is why i am awarding 4 stars. The wrong type of water tank was ordered which delayed the installation. However, this was noticed by the installers who seemed committed to making sure our installation was at the highest standard. Once the system was fitted, there was a couple of things that didn't work correctly. However, these were quickly remedied and the system now works as intended. I recommend the company to anyone looking at getting solar panels or a heat pump installed. More...

Installed external wall insulation and rendering that was privately paid for with support from Green Homes Grant. This took alot of effort and organising from our side and unfortunately there were many broken promises and deadlines before and during the project by Eco Roof and Wall Company. Many months later when they started work, they would turn up often without warning and on other days not at all. The final product is good, however this took some checking by us with a couple of visits for corrections. Unfortunately, one worker smelled of cannabis and another had left an empty beer can on site. It's understandable people can do things in their own time, but not on site. Without constant follow up on the customers' part and one of their mangers Simon, who seems to be the one person who really cares about customer experience, it doesn't feel like the project would have been completed to the right standard. Indeed, the company owner said he would follow up on completion but didn't - he noted in the call where he said he would follow up later, that he didn't often speak to customers. Overall, the grant money was more than earned by the amount of customer input. I do hope Eco Roof and Wall Company improve their customer care as it's a shame because the final product can be good. Sadly, this also means regulation bodies aren't that interested in the process of how you get to the final product because it's structurally intact and so there's not much accountability for customer care beyond online reviews.
