We are currently at Phase 2 and the whole team at SA Architectural Services have been wonderful. They are punctual, attentive, professional and we believe they have the knowledge to get our build in motion. Right from the outset the order of steps were clearly itemised including expected timeframes and all costs. We have in particular found Chris Nichols to be a true asset to our project, he is easy to understand and was able to make sense of our ideas providing knowledgeable suggestions to help us achieve a design that really suited us. They are always quick to respond to any emails from us and keep the project moving. We would highly recommend them to anyone thinking of starting a building project.

We found having Simon as our architect a very pleasent experience, from start to finish Simon took on board our ideas for our self build and added a few different ideas resulting in our dream home.
Simon was always available and helpful in dealing with any problems that arose. We developed a great working relationship and would highly recommend Distinct Designs to anyone looking for an architect.

I used James to install lots of cupboards and two worktops, one cut for a sink, in a large utility room. It would of been a challenging job for myself as its in a old cottage with the walls and ceilings not being square or straight. But I was very happy that I chose to use James as I was really impressed with James skills, experience and workmanship. The finished cut worktop for the butler sink looked particularly good. I would definitely recommend and use his services again. Thanks James.

We were very impressed with Dan and his company in the work they undertook for us. Dan and his company carried out a kitchen diner conversion, with run through flooring in the hallway and utility room. The work was carried out to a high standard, in the time period we planned with him. DGH contracting always showed up on time, and were great at communicating with us about the progress of the job. They kept to the quote price given. Dan is clearly very experienced, and himself and his team were very friendly and respectful, which is important I feel when work is being carried out in a house that is being lived in. We wouldn’t hesitate to get DGH contracting to carry out more work in the future. A nice additional touch was that Dan had no problems with giving me advice on a couple of other DIY projects I had going on around my house when asked, which was very helpful and saved me a lot of time elsewhere! I would wholly recommend DGH Contracting to others.

How long does an extension take?
How long your extension takes will depend on its size and complexity. A single story rear extension will usually take around three months to complete, whilst a double story extension may take up to six months. When you request a quote for your extension, your property extension specialist will be able to give you an estimate of how long your extension will take to complete.
How much value will an extension add to my property?
The value that an extension will add to your property will depend on how much extra space you are gaining and how much of the garden will remain. The majority of the time, an extension will add value to your property. Try looking on sites such as Rightmove and Zoopla at the prices of similar properties in your area to get an idea of how much value an extension could add to your property.
How can I pay for a home extension?
Most people pay for a home extension using their savings. If you need a small amount of extra money, you may be able to use a credit card or take out a loan to fund your home improvements. Another popular option is to remortgage your home, reducing your share in the property. This will free up funds which can be used to extend your property. It’s best to get independent financial advice to find the right way forward for funding your extension.
