What do you love most about your job?

I love helping people!
Spending over 20 years as a policeman in Staffordshire has given me the experience to deal with all kinds of situations and people that come to me. Helping others is in my nature and so when an opportunity presented itself some years ago, I became a Neuro-Linguistic Programming Life and Executive Coach. I excelled in helping others achieve their goals and dreams.
Hypnotherapy is a subject that fascinates me and inspires me. In fact, hypnotherapy is the one thing that helped me battle my anxiety, PTSD, and unhelpful behaviours and patterns. Naturally, I now specialise in Clinical Hypnotherapy and I offer a bespoke plan to clients that want change to happen.
If you want change, then we can work together.

What inspired you to start your own business?

There is a distinct lack of quality Clinical Hypnotherapists about, and having experienced excellent hypnotherapy when I needed it, I decided to train and provide people with an opportunity to experience hypnotherapy that can really make a difference to them. In addition, my wife practices Psychotherapy and together we compliment each other to make a great team.
The natural progression for us was to set-up our own business, offering people a truly bespoke and holistic therapy that suits them as individuals.

Why should our clients choose you?

Both Julie and I have had our fair share of challenges in life and we have both come out of the other side with the help of hypnotherapy and psychotherapy. Whilst we can never say we know what you are experiencing (we have never walked a mile in your shoes), we can certainly claim to have had extremely difficult challenges in our lives which means we can empathise with your situation.
Our unique life experiences and expert training sets us apart from the others when it comes to providing you the therapy you need.
We are regulated by the National Hypnotherapy Society and the NLPtCA (UKCP).
We are both DBS checked and operate with public liability insurance from our own therapy room in Meadowfield, Durham.

This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the hypnotherapist holds.

Your professional hypnotherapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted hypnotherapist today.

Firstly, you'll have a conversation with your therapist to discuss what you hope to achieve and agree on what methods your therapist will use. Afterwards, the hypnotherapist may lead you into a deeply relaxed state using agreed methods to help you towards your goals. For example, suggesting that you don't want to carry out a certain habit gradually bring you out of the trance.

You are fully in control when under hypnosis and don't have to take on the therapist's suggestions if you don't want to. If necessary, you can bring yourself out of the hypnotic state. Most people expect to be put to sleep or to forget what happened afterwards but the opposite is true. You're fully aware the whole time of what is happening.

This is dependent on both your hypnotherapist and your circumstances. One-off services such as smoking cessation or gastric band hypnotherapy can last around two hours, while a general hypnotherapy session will usually take about an hour.

The duration of therapy will really be dependent on your circumstances and issues. Some people may require a longer-term approach with regular weekly sessions. Your hypnotherapist will let you know how many sessions they feel you might need when you start therapy and will be flexible when it comes to decreasing or extending the number of sessions according to your progress and needs.

There are currently no guidelines in place stipulating the training and qualifications a hypnotherapist must have in order to practice. Industry guidelines recommend that individuals should have completed at least an appropriate diploma or have completed a course that involved a minimum of 450 learning hours, of which 120 hours must have been face-to-face.

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their hypnotherapy services.

Hypnotherapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with anxiety, depression, anxiety, PTSD, obesity, addictions, fear of flying, public speaking, stopping smoking, insomnia, weight loss amongst others. When combined with methods such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), valuable healing work can begin as quickly as one or two sessions.

You might be surprised to hear that hypnotherapy can be delivered remotely over the phone, through an online video chat platform, or with pre-recorded sessions sent by email.
