After trying to find gardeners to sort the garden out since October / November, I contacted Bark & got 5 potential gardeners to connect with - my garden had become over grown because of a combination of me being quite ill over the last 3 years, then my local gardener of some years started having health problems too.
Even though had sent out a few messages, nobody had got back to me until Simon Farmer called last Friday. He was a delight to communicate with and he explained about his many years of experience and extensive professionalism, which engendered my confidence in him.
He came round on Sunday afternoon and gave a quote which was very competitive, and much better than the one I'd had from a gardener sent round by the landlord earlier in the day. He viewed the garden and wasn't put off by the state of it, as he said he would be able cut through it with power tools, which didn't need any electricity to do the job.
Then he came early the following Tuesday 28th Jan 2020, and worked all day clearing the whole garden back and front.
Simon totally cleared the garden to the base structure of shrubs which he cut back into shape beautifully. Then trimmed the two apple trees, and finally mowed the lawn as that had become very unkempt and tufted.
Wow.... it was such a moment of de-stress for me, a good breath of fresh air and great relief seeing all that done and dusted. There were some black bags of garden waste from earlier in the year, that I'd not been able to take to the tip which he also collected. By now it was getting dark, but he continued round the front clearing the flags and pruning the roses and hydrangeas and a few other overgrown shrubs in the flower bed.
Simon is truly a miracle worker and totally genuine chap, didn't get phased at all, grafting hard all day on a bright but cold day. So am feeling uplifted with a total relief as it all looks so good ready for new growth in the spring - going forward, we will re connect in mid March to work out a regular plan to maintain the garden well.
