I help committed people live their best possible life. In particular I work with people seeking clarity of life direction.
I have a specialism in those who have been awoken to the brevity of life through a difficult diagnosis or a close loss, but I also work with executive management and business owners to shape their business or career strategy.
To be quite clear - I'm a coach, rather than a counsellor or therapist.
I'm Sarah and I am a humanistic Integrative Counsellor. This means we will build a working relationship which will focus on achieving your goals at your pace, without judgement. It also means that I may work with other approaches, such as Psychodynamic theory, Attachment theory or Transactional Analysis. Mostly, it means I am warm, friendly, approachable and passionate about enabling people to reach their potential in a way that suits our unique relationship.
After 1 session, I felt extremely comfortable and that is really important to me
She didn’t make me feel nervous and she made me feel welcome and it really helped
Re-Connect Counselling Services
Sometimes we have times in our lives which we find difficult. We feel we have lost our way, we might feel devastated by life's events, or particularly low and not know why. There are many reasons why we might feel disconnected and need to access some extra support, external to family, friends and colleagues. Re-Connect Counselling Services offers this support, it provides time and space to explore what is going on for you, at times in your life when you might need or want it most.
My training in Alexander Technique, Coaching and Embodied Mindfulness (with over 25 years’ experience) allows me to offer a bespoke blend of mental and physical strategies to help you live a more fulfilled, joyful and pain free life.
Julie Parker is one of very few facilitators I would recommend. The challenge was to develop strategies to embrace change, deepen cross-portfolio collaboration and support executive well-being.
Julie’s application of Action Learning techniques was highly effective and elicited strong engagement from my senior team.
The techniques gave us easily applicable strategies that we have successfully embedded within the team to develop cohesion and mutual support.
The techniques also enhance our strategic and creative thinking to ensure inclusive and genuinely empathetic listening and decision-making.

"We found Paul to be very professional and easy to work with in the build up to the wedding. On the day, he did a fantastic job, got on with everyone really well and provided us with a collection of photos we were delighted with the day after the wedding. He's clearly terrific at what he does and we would have no hesitation in recommending him. Thanks for your help with the best day of our lives." Helen and Jamie (27/07/2019)

I can honestly say that after meeting with Saida I can say that the results are fast!
I'd tried other counselling services in York and to be honest felt like the services weren't the thing the was 'healing' but the time that they took were! I remember feeling frustrated with what I was getting but unable to say anything as I would be asked the question 'Why do you think you feel like that'.
Saida's techniques are spot on her help is direct. She's in it to help others, not to to milk money (worth very much bearning in mind)! If you only visit her once you'll notice the difference and other counsellors in York area.

I like to help people find answers to life's problems. To help enable them to Feel better, Do better and Live better.
I am natural listener, and firmly believe in supporting people to empower themselves, finding a way to live the life they want to live.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Why i became a Counsellor.
Choosing the right career isn’t easy. Its about putting together natural skills and abilities, with the lifestyle we want to live. Most importantly, its about being happy.
After some years working in technical and engineering roles, I found myself looking deeply at my priorities in life. What was really important to me.
Through my own episodes of sadness, confusions and frustration, I left my secure well paid career. I began to work and help others who felt lost, unable to find their unique path in life.
I discovered in myself compassion, empathy and understanding. These are my natural skills and abilities, qualities that define me and make me happy. Thus began years of training, re-education and personal growth to become qualified as a Professional Counsellor. And a member of the UK professional organisation, the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
After years of experience, I have learned we all fall, we all rise, we all make mistakes. But through it all we can still find happiness and fulfilment. It’s there, right inside us. We just sometimes need a little help in discovering it.
Why should our clients choose you?
It can be difficult finding someone you can talk to. How do you choose a counsellor ? How do you know if you can trust them? Will they judge you? Will they understand?
In a world where everyone has their own ideas on what's 'right' and what's 'wrong' it can be difficult to find someone you can be truly open with. We can all carry problems and thoughts that disturb us, and keep them to ourselves in fear of judgement or reproach.
I will listen to you, and help you find your answers in life. You won't find judgement, just a safe, warm space to talk about what's happening.
I am a qualified Counsellor, a Life Coach and Mindfulness trainer.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy BACP.
