Somatic coaching releases old patterns and enables personal growth by reconnecting you with your body and its resources.
Working with your body, which means your body and your mind, using my verbal guidance, I teach you to let go of automatic patterns of tension that no longer serve you, which will enable you to accomplish what you want in your life today.
What served us well in our past, limits us now, preventing us from living freely and fully. As children, we quickly learnt how to survive the challenging environments in which we found ourselves. We learnt from the moods of our parents and teachers and the atmospheres they created, and adapted our behaviour accordingly. In addition, we drew conclusions about ourselves and other people from these early experiences. Through repetition, these adaptions and conclusions result in automatic patterns of tension and holding in the body, which can cause pain, ill health and restricted experience in later life.
My work with clients focuses on firstly teaching you to develop your body attention, through working with your body attention, breath and movement. Then, I will teach you, again through your body, where your old patterns reside, how to stop these and to let your body move freely, allowing energy that was stuck to flow and move, to expand and create more openness. This work can be undertaken lying down, sitting and standing.
Shifting these energy blocks enables physical aches and pains to resolve and the held-down emotions to surface and move freely. This creates space for the new to come in – new ways of moving in your body, of doing everyday things, viewing situations, relating with others. Then new opportunities arrive which can be met from this place of freshness and energy, with more ease and satisfaction.
