Noemi Dorgu Photography

Hi, I am Noemi, a Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire (UK) based wedding and family portrait photographer. I have always been passionate about capturing fleeting moments in a visual way, creating memories which remind me of special moments, places and people. I have studied Fine Art and specialised in photography. I perceive it my privilege to be allowed to capture a special time in your life, be it your wedding day, a precious moment in the life of your baby, toddler or child, your pregnancy or the love you have for each other as a family or couple. My aim is always to capture natural, real moments as well as some posed images. Most of my family portrait sessions are based in Herts.,Beds. and Bucks. but I had several opportunities to capture weddings in London in the last year. I offer location as well as studio style portrait sessions in the comfort of your own home. My camera of choice is my trusted Canon 6D and I usually work with Lightroom as well as Photoshop to enhance your images.

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?

Capture the essence of who a person is, a real emotion and moment and have fun.
Use the light, location and equipment to enhance the moment to create timeless, visual memories.

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

What kind of photographs would you like to gain from your photography session?
What are your creative ideas, wishes and expectations?

What do you love most about your job?

I love capturing real moments and people and to be able to create visual memories to help you remember those important events and people who mean a lot to you, for years to come.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Taking photographs has become my way of reflecting on life and the important people around me. Making sense of what life throws at you became a hard reality, when our then 4 year old daughter was diagnosed with cancer in July 2013. She is now in remission but all through her diagnosis and treatment of 1.5 years I recorded a daily visual diary of her journey on Facebook and her website. Her images are regularly used by Clic Sargent and also Cancer Research Kids & Teens. Capturing the truth of our situation, the pain as well as the happy moments showed me again that what I truly want to aim for, is to capture the real essence of who people are and what they mean to each other. After this experience having photography as only a passion and hobby wasn't enough for me anymore and my wish to take it to the next level as well as enquiries for photography sessions prompted me to start my own business.

Why should our clients choose you?

By choosing me as your photographer, I endeavour to give you a fun, creative and tailored photo session while capturing timeless images. I commit to listen to your ideas and wishes and whenever possible will aim to reach those expectations and create those images you always wanted.

The number of photos that your photographer will take will depend on the type and duration of the photoshoot you book. You won’t see most of the photos either. This is because your photographer will take duplicate photos in case anyone blinks or looks away. They’ll then delete any photos that don’t come out quite right before showing you the final selection. A one-hour family photoshoot will typically generate between 30 and 60 finished photos.

What you choose to wear for your photoshoot is a personal choice. It’s important to choose an outfit that you feel confident in, as this will help to put you at ease during your photoshoot. Try to avoid busy patterns as these may blur on photos. If you’re having a family photoshoot, it’s a good idea to co-ordinate your outfits to ensure that you don’t clash with each other.

There are a few things that you can do to prepare your children for a photo shoot. Firstly, tell them about the photo shoot and help them to get excited. This will give the best chance of capturing smiles on camera. It’s also a good idea to make sure that the photo shoot doesn’t conflict with nap times and that your children eat, drink and go to the toilet before the photoshoot begins.
