I have completed the 8 week post natal block and it was fantastic. Carla teaches the importance of rebuilding your strength and how to correctly rebuild the muscles most impacted by pregnancy (abdominal muscle separation and pelvic floor). The small class sizes are fantastic as Carla can make sure everyone is doing the exercises correctly and not doing themselves more harm than good by doing an exercise wrong (something that has put me off going to bigger group exercise classes). I really notice a difference in my strength from the 8 week block and can start to see a difference in the tension in my abdominals again.
Carla tailors the exercises to match everyone’s ability and makes sure everyone works hard but within their capability.
Another huge plus for me is the support Carla offers out with the class via the weekly check in and if you have any questions she is always happy to answer them. This support and encouragement has definitely allowed me to accept that it’s OK and normal to not go straight back into exercise levels from before being pregnant and to understand the toll pregnancy has on your body for a while (or forever!) after delivering your baby. I am looking forward to another block to keep progressing my fitness and continue working towards my goals!
