Lorraine Palmer - RAW Food & Vegan Expert

West Midlands

I mentor conscious women who know that eating plant based foods is the way forward to better health. They understand their eating habits need to change and that taking action NOW is paramount to making significant changes to their health. I specialise in plant based foods, living foods and raw foods so people can access dense nutrients. My food is healthy and does not compromise on taste. I offer a weight loss programme and I am happy to show people how to shop healthily e.g. there are hidden sugars and salts in most processed foods. A little bit more about me............if you are interested. How important is a healthy diet to someone’s health and wellbeing?

It is super important - there is a saying which goes 'you are what you eat' but I go one step further and say 'you are what you can digest' meaning it's no good being able to eat great food if you cannot digest it. You need to be able to break it down so your body can access all the nutrients from the food / drinks.

What do you love most about your job?

I love hearing people's stories about what they have done so far regarding losing weight, eating more healthily, feeling better about their heath etc. and then come up with a doable plan to get them from A to B. I have fun with my clients and they have fun with me. Becoming healthy should be an enjoyable journey not a journey of misery and pain.

What inspired you to start your own business?

My own journey of getting myself better ..... long story short I had a hysterectomy and went into the menopause / had bad symptoms and I used food to get better - you'll have to read my book to know more about that journey or I can tell you more if you become a client :-) In the early days of me learning about health and nutrition I assisted my dad in reversing his type two diabetes, I got him off his drug metformin which he had taken for over 15 years - OMG! I still cannot believe it myself..... that was a long time

Why should our clients choose you?

I believe all should have access to support for their better health and wellbeing which means I keep my costs affordable and fair for those who need help. I am a fun loving person who will have your back, be straight talking when need be but also hold you accountable, push you and give you holistic support. I sometimes find that there are other areas of a person's life that needs attention other than the reason they came to me. I am dyslexic so I have a genius about me in understanding people (that's how it manifests in me). I have great emotional intelligence.

Your specialist will be able to advise you on the full range of services available and will be able to help you select the best treatment for your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a specialist today.

Dietitians are the only health professionals regulated and protected by law. Registered Nutritionists can provide evidence-based advice and information about food and healthy eating. Nutritional therapists provide alternative treatment, based on the idea that the body needs 'healing' and 'correcting'.

  • Credentials - Find a specialist that has the credentials to support your personal needs.

  • Experience - Ask how long your Dietitian or Nutritionist has been practising and look up their background.

  • Gimmicks - Check your specialist is not supporting an unsuitable diet brand or supplement.

  • Right fit - Make sure they are upfront in the areas they specialise in and are able to make referrals if your needs are outside their comfort zone.

The minimum requirement for a Dietitian is a degree in Dietetics or a related science degree with a postgraduate diploma or higher degree in Dietetics. Nutritionists should have attended a course which is accredited by the Association for Nutrition (AfN).

Before you choose either a Nutritionist or a Dietitian, you could read testimonials and read reviews on their website. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and read reviews from past customers too.

Absolutely! Whether it's receiving advice on how to tackle food allergies or a bespoke diet plan to help you live healthier, your expert will be able to support you via video call or the telephone.
