What do you love most about your job?

I love helping people move forward in their lives and to resolve and release issues, conditions and habits. I suffered from panic and anxiety in my early twenties and the hypnotherapy treatment literally saved my life! I love that I can now help other people at thief time of need and struggle.

That panic attack was once the worst day of my life and then it became the best day of my life, it changed my destiny and ultimately my career path.

I get to meet people from all walks of life and all ages. My youngest client 7 years old to working with clients in their 90's. You are never too old to make changes.

I love being able to work with people holistically and use my skills and training. I do not use set scripts or treatment plans as every individual is unique.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I was first year student at Aston University back in 1987 when I had a panic attack! I was giving a presentation and then wham! I could not breathe, speak and my heart felt as if it would burst out of my chest. The mere thought of ever doing another presentation would then make me feel anxious and sick! I managed to avoid some but I noticed the anxiety began to spread to other situations. I felt anxious in small group tutorials at the thought of being asked a question and then I found it difficult in social situations.

I was at a point where I though I would have to leave university but fortunately I spoke to the Dr on campus and he recommended hypnotherapy to me. I was studying psychology and I thought why not, let's give it a go.

I had three sessions and it was like a magic wand for me! I was so much more relaxed and confident even after the first few sessions. I had a fantastic experience at my next presentation and have never had a panic attack since.

I worked in corporate for many years and then in my early thirties I trained as a hypnotherapist. It was a brave and bold move to come out of a secure corporate job but it was the best decision I have ever made.

Why should our clients choose you?

I understand what it feels like to desperately need help and support. Many of my clients say they chose to work with me because I understand how they feel and I am very passionate about hypnotherapy and how it can change lives.

I am told by my clients that I am very easy to talk to, professional, warm and caring. This is my full-time living and it is my passion.

I love to learn and keep up to date with the latest therapeutic approaches.

I work with you as a unique individual and tailor my therapy to your needs.

I work one to one, in person and via Skype/phone.

I run small group Mindfulness Meditation/Relaxation session monthly

Your professional life coach will be able to advise you on the full range of coaching available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted life coach today.

You can have as many or as few life coaching sessions as you like. Many life coaches operate over the phone or via the internet so the sessions can easily fit around your schedule. Some people hire a life coach once every few months, some people have a session once a week.

Life coaching sessions will typically last up to an hour. Often after an initial assessment, sessions can be conducted over the phone, face to face, over email, via Skype/Zoom and occasionally through instant messaging.

During the session, your life coach will ask you a number of questions, such as what you want to achieve in life, what areas you're unhappy with and where you'd like to see yourself in the future. Although a life coach will work with you, it’s often up to you to challenge or reflect upon certain ideas you have to help you move forward with your life. You will never be forced to make any decisions you don't feel comfortable with and all sessions will be confidential.

Life coaching is focused on your present and your future. Coaching accepts your current reality and looks to improve your outcome moving forward. Life coaches are not health professionals and they do not diagnose you. By contrast, therapy focuses on your past and looks to delve into past actions and patterns. It is analytical but not action-oriented.

Most mainstream health insurance providers do not cover the costs of life coaching because it is not considered a mental health profession in the same way therapists and counsellors are.

Life coaches do not need to have any formal or academic qualifications but you may want to look for life coaches who possess an industry-specific qualification, such as the Life Coaching Diploma or Personal Performance Diploma (PPD).

You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark, which shows you reviews from past customers who have used their life coaching services.

A life coach is a trained professional who aims to help and guide individuals to make, meet and exceed personal and professional goals. They support clients on a journey to rediscover their own strength and abilities. This can include excelling in the workplace, becoming happy and fulfilled at home, exploring your potential, managing health conditions and achieving life ambitions.

By harnessing techniques based on core psychological principles and intuition, life coaches empower clients and provide a toolkit of teachings to confidently face difficult challenges and overcome emotional barriers.

Life coaches can specialise in one of these particular areas of coaching: career coaching, executive business, group coaching, health and wellbeing, performance management, personal development, relationships, retirement, spiritual and youth coaching.

Rapport is one of the most important parts of life coaching. If you feel uncomfortable with your professional, you are unlikely to gain much from the session. It is advisable to get in contact before you book a session to meet your life coach so you can gauge how comfortable you are in their presence. It is worth talking to a few potential life coaches and ask questions.

Yes! As long as you have a strong internet connection, then your life coach can deliver sessions via an online video chat platform. Alternatively, it can be done over the phone.
