Essential. Research increasingly suggests we have to feed the right bacteria in our guts to be healthy - and they seem to like a balanced, healthy, varied diet. If we eat unhealthily all the time we are feeding the ones that may lead to disease. Balance is key. We can't be angels all the time.
Getting fit absolutely changed my life. Nutrition is an integral part of that. I enjoy helping you discover that and make sustainable changes that make you feel better. It's got to work for you personally to be sustainable, so I treat every client as an individual.
What I said above, really. Getting a proper, sustainable fitness/healthy eating habit changed my life and is now an integral part of it. That wasn't always the case, so it inspired me to help other people.
I have a lot of knowledge, I am qualified through Aberdeen medical school to interpret nutrition research, and that transfers to fitness research too. I read the research regularly to help my clients make evidence-based informed decisions. I believe that the research increasingly points to adopting a personalised approach, but that approach should be safe, and based on how you respond personally to food and exercise. I help you measure and monitor that and make evidence-based changes accordingly.
Yes. I have Nutritics software and my clients log diet and exercise through the Libro app. I can meet with clients virtually on Zoom (preferred) or other platforms. I am also developing online coaching /courses in teachable. I do also have face-to-face nutrition clinics in Seaford and Eastbourne, East Sussex, and run in person 1:1 small group fitness sessions at clients homes/at other locations.
Obviously I abide by current restrictions and have always cleaned all equipment after each client. For face-to-face fitness sessions I prefer clients to have their own equipment, currently (though I can provide cleaned equipment). I complete lft twice a week.
