I have been seeing Kerry for personal training over the last 6 months. She is an amazing instructor who listens to my goals and thinks about how to move me forwards every session. She is great at explaining why we are doing the exercises to keep me motivated, is lovely, and patient, but will also give me the challenge I need and motivate me to push myself!  I have noticed how much stronger I am and this training helped me achieve a faster half marathon time (and helped my back ache too). Would highly recommend her. More...

I’ve worked with Kilojoules for about 2 months now and found their input invaluable. I’m a fairly fit 53 year old male and look after myself well but the insight I’m getting from Kilojoules takes this another level. The weekly reports give me a in depth account of my dietary intake as gives me precise direction on what changes could be made to improve my diet. There have been a few suggestions that have gone against my own routines and thoughts on what I need so will be following these. I’m already losing weight in a controlled manner and feel great doing it!
I’ll keep you posted again in a few months.

Q&As

Essential. Research increasingly suggests we have to feed the right bacteria in our guts to be healthy - and they seem to like a balanced, healthy, varied diet. If we eat unhealthily all the time we are feeding the ones that may lead to disease. Balance is key. We can't be angels all the time.

A personal approach. If you REALLY hate it, even after you've finished (because how you feel after exercise is key to wanting to do it again), you won't carry on. I aim to help you find something you like (enough) that makes you feel good, then coach you to progress in manageable chunks that deliver measurable results. I help you monitor your progress, plan next steps, and overcome barriers to keep you motivated.

I'll let you know when I find it. Actually I believe that being healthy is key. Some things you can't change, but you can change your health.

Getting fit absolutely changed my life. Nutrition is an integral part of that. I enjoy helping you discover that and make sustainable changes that make you feel better. It's got to work for you personally to be sustainable, so I treat every client as an individual.

What I said above, really. Getting a proper, sustainable fitness/healthy eating habit changed my life and is now an integral part of it. That wasn't always the case, so it inspired me to help other people.

I have a lot of knowledge, I am qualified through Aberdeen medical school to interpret nutrition research, and that transfers to fitness research too. I read the research regularly to help my clients make evidence-based informed decisions. I believe that the research increasingly points to adopting a personalised approach, but that approach should be safe, and based on how you respond personally to food and exercise. I help you measure and monitor that and make evidence-based changes accordingly.

Yes. I have Nutritics software and my clients log diet and exercise through the Libro app. I can meet with clients virtually on Zoom (preferred) or other platforms. I am also developing online coaching /courses in teachable. I do also have face-to-face nutrition clinics in Seaford and Eastbourne, East Sussex, and run in person 1:1 small group fitness sessions at clients homes/at other locations.

Obviously I abide by current restrictions and have always cleaned all equipment after each client. For face-to-face fitness sessions I prefer clients to have their own equipment, currently (though I can provide cleaned equipment). I complete lft twice a week.
