Richard has been absolutely fabulous throughout my extension planning. He is very felxible, approachable and comes up with fantastic ideas which I would never have thought of. He is so friendly and helpful and has a modern approach. I was really impressed when I received plans which I could download on my computer and virtually walk around the extension! All of this for a reasonable price, would highly recommend.

I run a building firm. Kennet Design drew up several alternative outline plans for a client so that they could select the most appropriate for them. Once the client selected there preferred option, full-plans were drawn for submission to the Local Building Authourity. The plans were not immediately approved but given the tenacity and professionalism of Kennet Designs they explained fully how they fitted the locale and met all requirements and so the Authourity awarded full planning permission for the construction of the extension to dwelling and garden Room. We found the drawings to be extremely detailed and accurate with all of the information required to arrive at an estimate of construction easily.
Carl, the actual architect from Kennet Design assigned to our project, was the ultimate professional: knowledgeable, helpful and polite, totally engaging with the client so that he fully understood their needs and how the building could best respond to them. With such service and skills we now use Kennet Design as our only recommendation for future clients including those in other local authourities.

Apex Construction did a loft conversion for us and we are very pleased with their work. From start to finish we were informed of every stage and always consulted with any changes that were needed. All the lads involved worked very hard, the end result being a fantastic space with bathroom all finished to a very high standard. Would definitely recommend to all family and friends.
Is it cheaper to do a Loft Conversion or an extension?
Converting your loft into liveable space is typically much more cost effective than building an extension, with prices starting from just £15,000 for a basic loft conversion. However, this depends on how complex the design is. A loft conversion can be as simple as a room in the roof, or it can involve adding dormer windows or even altering the roof. The more sophisticated the design is, the higher the cost will be.
How much value does a Loft Conversion add to a house?
According to research carried out by Nationwide Building Society, converting your loft can increase the value of your home by up to 20%. With the average price of a house in the UK currently standing at £235,000, a loft conversion could increase your home’s value by up to £47,000. Of course, this depends on the design of your loft conversion and the amount of extra space that you’re adding to your property.
How long does a Loft Conversion take?
Most loft conversions will take around 10 weeks to complete. However, this is dependent on the design of your loft conversion. How long it takes to convert your loft will depend on the type of loft conversion being done, the materials used, whether plumbing is required, the type of staircase being installed and how many windows are being added.
