We decided to use Stuart for our house project after finding he had been recommended by many people on a social media platform and good reviews on Bark.
We had an initial meeting with Stuart that went well and he was extremely enthusiastic and excited about the project ahead.
After these initial discussions on our plans, we then started to have a number of issues arise. Firstly initial plans did not have some of our important wish list items we originally discussed, slow responses to emails if any response at all and plans coming through at early hours of the morning. We found that Stuart was extremely busy with projects and this showed in the hours that he seemed to be working. Once our plans had been approved we asked if he could go to the next stage of full drawings, which Stuart didn’t seem to keen on providing. So we decided to part ways and had to find another architect to complete our project. My husband and I were very disappointed in the level of service provided and feel that Stuart needs to concentrate more on the project's he has. More...

Dear Louise, Very sorry to read this review and that you felt the need to write it,as I have reviewed our communications and felt that we have addressed your issues raised and you were happy. It is regrettable that we could not continue with the next stage of your project, however your reluctance to provide the contractors details raised concerns with me, as I needed to confirm the costs for the construction drawings. You are correct that I am extremely busy and having to work long hours to get the work out to customers, but I would have thought that this would have been viewed as a positive. However all feedback is welcome and I will look to see what improvements can be made moving forward. It's a pleasure to deal with someone who is professional and exceptional at what he does!
Stuart was always available via phone to help with any queries from start to finish. He also made time to visit on site to fit in with my requirements, sometimes at short notice.
Offering his ideas was important as it was not a straight forward project. His knowledge gave me the confidence to move forward with an appeal, which due to his expertise and contacts was successful. He knows the industry and the correct people to contact to make things happen!
I will be commencing another project and there is only one person I would use.

Stuart Kirkwood it's very prompt and very straight with the customers his pricing is very reasonable and genuinely a very nice guy to work alongside.

We've used Stuart for two projects: a modest garage conversion and a large sympathetic modernisation of an Edwardian house. Stuart did a fantastic job on both projects in terms of taking our ideas and needs and converting them into great designs that really worked.

Stuart has really good contacts in the planning department and was invaluable in negotiating with the local planning officers to get the plans through - in spite of very difficult neighbours. The supporting people he used, such as Structural Engineers, were all extremely professional and focused on getting the job done.

His fee structure was totally transparent and very reasonable - in particular there were no nasty surprises afterwards.

In summary, we will use Stuart for our next project(s) and would 100% recommend him to others, including Friends and Family. More...

I was originally let downy another company so thought I’d give him a try. I have to say that from the first point of contact to the end of the project Stuart has been incredibly reliable and transparent.

I’m a property investor and was looking to carry out extensive works on a property that had various challenges to get through planning.

Stuart’s expertise and communication with the local authorities and builders has been superb. Stuart has been on point and has delivered everything he said he would on time every time. He also delivered more when necessary.
