What do you love most about your job?

I love helping people; to provide that ear, support, motivation and inspiration for my clients to lead a more content and happy life. I'd describe it as imagining having a trusted companion who genuinely believes in your dreams and is committed to helping you reach your highest potential. That's the essence of what I like to bring to coaching.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I became a Coach after gaining awareness of coaching techniques and starting to consciously try them out in day to day life; how I framed conversations and acted in situations. The pivotal moment for me in realising the power of coaching was in 2020 during a moment of desperation sitting on the bathroom floor in the midst of Covid with very little support to hand, and what I can only describe as my ‘broken’ 16 year old daughter who was seriously struggling with her mental health. A lightbulb went off and I used what I had started to learn was coaching-based questions to understand her better.

Open, empathetic yet challenging questions, actively listening and giving space to find the answers - all basic skills in having a coaching conversation but in that emotionally driven moment it took a lot more discipline and self awareness than I ever would have imagined; holding my (bigger than me) daughter in my arms like a toddler praying that I could just take away her pain, took every ounce of effort.

That conversation led to her opening up and took us on a journey to discovering she has ADHD. It was difficult but she found her path, accepted help and we (very emotionally) said goodbye at the end of last year as she took off to college in Edinburgh on her own to start her dream of entering the world of theatre and film to do prosthetics and special effects; and my goodness I could not be more proud. She is miles from that vulnerable girl I held in my arms - she has realised she is brave, and although there will no doubt be wobbles, I know she will be ok as long as we can have the right conversations to keep her on that positive path.

That bathroom floor chat led me to pursue being an ICF ACSTH Professional Coach and gain my Certificate in Professional Coaching Practice. It truly has been life changing; and my dream and mission is to provide a service where I can continue to guide others to be brave, develop and explore their potential.

Why should our clients choose you?

I couple my experience both within my human resources career and personal life events including divorce, neurodiversity, redundancy and bereavement with positive psychology and emotional intelligence to give my clients a more authentic, genuine and safe space physically and emotionally to discover what they need to achieve their goals. If you are feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands, whether that's on a personal or professional level, my one to one coaching services aim to introduce clarity, focus and self-motivation. I will enable you through active listening and challenge you through effective coaching techniques to be empowered; and break down those barriers to believe in your true potential.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes, and in the format that you feel most comfortable; whether that is via a call, or Teams for a face to face coaching session.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

All of my services can be delivered remotely; ensuring a physically safe space as well as emotionally to allow you complete comfort during your session
