What should I expect at my sessions?
The process begins with an initial consultation, together we’ll explore how you’d like hypnotherapy to help you and agree what we aim to achieve. I’ll explain a little about how the mind works helping you understand why you have been feeling the way you have and how you can move forward in a positive way.
You’ll also receive a free relaxation CD or mp3 to take home which supports the process. There is no hypnosis at the initial consultation, but it is an informative and relaxed session which allows me to design a tailored treatment plan for our subsequent hypnotherapy sessions together. For many clients, it’s the beginning of real focus and positive change.
At subsequent hypnotherapy sessions, we’ll begin by talking about your progress, exploring the positive things that have happened. I'll be encouraging you to reflect in a positive way, focusing on solutions rather than dwelling on problems. We’ll be imagining how life will be when your problem is gone, when you’re feeling more relaxed, confident and moving towards your goals. We’ll then consolidate our discussion using guided relaxation into a state of hypnosis to help bring about the therapeutic change.
