What do you love most about your job?

I adore being outside every day come rain or shine. After working as a senior manager in healthcare for 25 years, there is nothing better than stretching my legs in the great outdoors in the company of animals. Every day the dogs make me laugh out loud with their antics. I love the dogs I walk, they are all truly great characters which makes me happy to be in their company. I am very lucky.

What inspired you to start your own business?

After a successful career in healthcare I was really ready for a change and wanted to go back to working outside, with animals, which is what I used to do when I first left school. My own dogs are a large part of my well-being and I know just how important it is to have someone looking after your pets you can really trust. I had my own dog walker for 12 years and it made me aware of what constitutes a good walker! So when the opportunity came about I grabbed it with both hands and haven't looked back since.

Why should our clients choose you?

If you chose Hanson's Hounds you will receive a high quality service, that is understanding and flexible. Many of my customers comment how patient and relaxed I am with their pets which has made a notable difference to their pet. They know they can trust me to do what they are paying me for - I offer 60 minute dog walks and that is exactly what the dog will receive, it doesn't include travel time. So your dog gets a full hour of exercise, fun and stimulation. Your dog will not only have been toileted but will be tired, content and have had the opportunity to socialise and play.

I also offer fully licensed home boarding in a dog friendly environment which is an attractive alternative to kennels.Home boarding is often the preferred option for pet owners who are going away and want their dog to have more one to one, tailored care - just like in their own home.
