I am a fully qualified counsellor with a diploma in both Integrative therapies and a diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I hold a certificate in Bereavement support through Cruse (a national grief service). My main field of expertise is working with people to increase their confidence, self-esteem and self-belief. Many clients have successfully used my service to help with their anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions. I have years of experiencing working with people with addictions and have found that at the route of many conditions is trauma. It does not matter how big or small this trauma may seem to others; what is important is have it has impacted your life. From me you will gain someone who can listen to your issues with a non-judgemental ear. For some it may be exploring ways to manage their issues and for others it will be about being able to offload without being criticised. Whatever you require, I will work with you to meet your needs either by face-face or Skype sessions or even referring you to a service more appropriate for your concerns.
I love working with people and empowering them to lead happier and healthier life styles.
I began my training in 2007 as a single mum. I have since qualified in with 2 different diplomas, have a wonderful child, step-son and husband and feel that I am living a happy and contented life.
I am relatively young to be a counsellor with several years experience working with mental health issues, addictions, grief etc. I too have been through years of my life when I have sadly struggled. I lost both of my parent 6 years ago within 3 months of each other. One had Motor Neurone's disease and the other had Cancer. This took its toll on me and I went through therapy to help with the impact that this had on my life. I have learnt first hand how having someone to talk to can help and although it is not for everyone, I would always suggest giving it a try.
I understand that your issues and the way you manage them, feel about them and how they impact your life will not be the same as mine or anyone else's but it does not mean that you are alone and we can work together to find a way forward for you.
