Whether you are looking to change one or more aspects of your life, trying to deal with a bereavement or relationship breakdown or seeking direction with your personal or professional goals, my aims are the same. To support you to reflect on the past, to enable you to rethink your present, then guide you towards a brighter life where you achieve resolution.
I believe you have the talent to achieve the business success you desire, you just need a little help from me to make the confident decisions to bring it into being. As a values-led, solution-focused coach, I’ll move you towards outcomes via choices and decisions that represent who you are as a creative business owner or employee. I specialise in working with Creatives because of my previous career as a creator in the media industry. I was a News and Current Affairs Radio Producer in Australia for 3 years and a Picture Editor at the Financial Times in London for almost a decade. This creative experience provides insight and context that helps me to align psychological science and creativity to help my clients achieve their creative business goals. My coaching is qualified by the University of Cambridge, so I use scientifically-tested, psychology-based coaching skills proven to help people overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. I am a member of the Association for Coaching and adhere to their core competencies and the global code of ethics.
That my creative, curious and compassionate coaching mind gets a front row seat as my clients creative thinking metamorphoses into career or business decisions and strategies. It's a brilliant way to make my living!
I was drawn to the coaching profession after learning firsthand the importance of making values-led decisions when I became disabled in my late 20s. Up until then, I’d always been the work-hard, play-hard type, up for any challenge. Then, all of a sudden, I had to think critically and strategically about the measured actions I took whilst my peers were still living like I used to - ouch!
My cardiologist putting me forward for a program in the psychology department specifically helping the chronically ill was a complete game changer and more effective than any of the medications I’d been put on. At the heart of the program sat mindfulness skills, a values-led decision-making process, and a safe and constructive place to explore my thinking and behaviour. This combination gave me back my confidence and my productivity and I became hooked on learning about the psychology that sits underneath thinking, behaviour and decision-making. I knew then that my media career boots would be hung up and replaced with work that used psychology and core values instead.
When I weighed up the fields of psychology, counselling and coaching it was at first a close call, until I found the coaching certificate with Cambridge University. The syllabus meant that I could train to coach with one of the world’s most reputable educational institutions AND design a coaching business based on my psychological passions, my love of creativity and structured to fit with my disability too.
I chose to specialise in working with small business owners because running a business in the modern era is a complex job with so many different decisions to make. You’re often the CEO, CFO, Creative Director and the Marketing, Communications and Sales Manager too. So much swapping between the roles and so… many… decisions… to… make!! Not all of them are the fun ones you imagined when you set up your Creative Business either am I right? Learning all of this myself, my niche became clear. I wanted to help people make confident decisions for their business based on what’s in their heart (core values), their mind (thinking) and their body (behaviour).
As a coach, I’m passionate about combining creativity with the science of thinking and behaviour to the benefit of my clients. I'm friendly, enthusiastic, intuitive, curious, creative, empathetic, and Australian... but don't hold that against me! ;)
Credibility is important to me, which is why I studied for my coaching certification with the University of Cambridge. I'm also currently training with Russ Harris in Acceptance Based Commitment Training which to me, is one of the most life-changing models of learning and development. I also receive coaching supervision and I'm a member of the Association for Coaching.
I predominately coach online, but face-to-face coaching in Central London (EC2) or in Colchester (CO7) can be arranged for an additional fee.
I coach online only when required and in keeping with the government guidelines.
