We unfortunately lost my brother this year and whilst scouring the internet for a celebrant to carry out the service we stumbled across the gem that is Mark Gregory. Because of geography and an illness to myself at the time we were putting the service together Mark went to great lengths to make himself available in person, over the internet and phone to put the right service together. Mark was friendly and assumed the correct tone straight away. He was very understanding of our complicated geographical set up and made himself available at all times of the working day and some in the evening. It was clear he wanted to do my brothers service justice and make a mark and reflect his personality and life in utterly the right way. He understood all the childhood stories and family anecdotes and put them together into one very moving service that Mark gave from the heart. I’d like to think my brother would approve. Mark is friendly, personable, compassionate and passionate about getting things done the way you want them to be done. I would recommend Mark for a celebrant for a memorial service and a wedding. He seemed to be very good at switching from the more light hearted funny stories of my brother and moving them on with personal tributes from family. I heartily recommend Mark for anything your choosing to commemorate whether it be a wedding or in this case a memorial. I have to say he has a very good voice on him as well as everyone stood to sing a final song dedicated to my brother you could hear Marks vocals clearly and stoically helping us all get through a service we never wanted but had to do. Mark was our celebrant for our tipi wedding at the beginning of June and he truly made our day. Every guest commented on how incredible he was from start to finish at keeping guests entertained, organising the day and just generally making it as special as can be. Mark was the celebrant for my partner’s funeral. He was very easy to chat to during the preparation sessions and made sure he consulted me carefully on the right tone and content. On the day he did a brilliant job, very carefully balancing some of the important sombre moments whilst gently bringing in some humour as we remembered a person whose life was full of cheeky jokes - it was a very skilful balance. Mark is also a great singer and he rounded off the funeral with a rendition of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ (my partner was a Liverpool fan) which worked really well and added a great final layer to the event. Where do I even begin to encapsulate what this man delivered for our wedding… - firstly just absolutely a top bloke you would want around you on the most special day of your life! Such a joyful, funny, warm man who will put you at ease and is totally focused on you and delivering your day! - such a thoughtful and considered approach to understanding you and your partners story and ensuring your ceremony is perfectly personal to you and your partner. He listens and cares. - utterly a life saver and support network for you from planning and prepping in advance to that kind pair of eyes you need on the day to know you’re where you should be and it’s ok to be nervous but he’s got you covered! - amazing singer with tremendous range and ability with different genres. We would 100% recommend Mark for your event. Mark is friendly and outgoing and communication was prompt with fast replies. He was punctual and fitted straight in with our guests. Mark hosted some gameshows and team based games at our wedding in September. Mark read the room very well and bantered with us the Bride and Groom (Marc spelt with C) and all of our guests. We were a competitive rowdy bunch but Mark kept everyone in check. Having Mark as the gameshow host meant that all our guests could be involved. As the bride, I wanted to make sure that our wedding had a personal touch while still keeping our guests entertained. So, we hired a Mark to host a quiz during the reception. Let me tell you, it was a great decision! From the start, Mark was professional and organised. He called us before the wedding to discuss our preferences, and he incorporated them into the quiz. He also took the time to learn about our relationship and added in questions that showed off our unique parts of our history. It was clear that he put a lot of effort into making the quiz special for us. During the reception, Mark kept the energy high and the atmosphere lively. He got everyone involved, and we witnessed friends and family members laughing and chatting with one another. The questions were fun and engaging, and the guests were completely immersed in the game. Our wedding took place on 29th October 22, with Mark as our MC. He exceeded our expectations by far and if I didn’t all over again, I would hire him all over again. He was super. My guest haven’t stopped raving on about how great our MC was and the fact that he’s multitalented. He did a fabulous job with the ceremony, brought many aspects of our life together into the reading, he then also sang a song for my wife to walk down the isle, which was absolutely amazing. We used Mark's services recently to officiate our dad's cremation service after dad passed away unexpectedly. On meeting Mark, he immediately put us at ease with his kind and sincere conversation. Mark was very thorough in obtaining an understanding of dad's life, marriage, stories, quips etc whilst being very sensitive and respectful of our loss. Following our meeting, Mark pulled the eulogy together quickly and professionally and sent this to us for approval /changes etc. He also liaised with the funeral home regarding the order of service so we didn't have to worry about it. Mark's delivery of the eulogy and service was brilliant, and everyone commented to us on this afterwards. Obviously these occasions are usually sombre but there was sadness AND laughter in our service and thanks to Mark's delivery, this came across very respectful of memories whilst also engaging people with laughter over the funny points. We will always be grateful to Mark for his kindness and dedication in the lead-up to our dad's funeral. What do you love most about your job?
The variety! One minute I'm helping a grieving family remember their loved one in the healthiest way possible, the next I'm singing my surprise encore at a birthday party with everyone up on the dance floor. I'm always meeting new people and creating new experiences for those around me – that's what makes my business tick!
What inspired you to start your own business?
In September 2019, my mum sadly passed away from lung cancer. After getting heavily involved in the funeral arrangements, including writing and delivering her eulogy, I was given the idea to pursue celebrancy as a career. My background in theatre and radio gives me confidence and charisma speaking in front of crowds, and I gradually added the live entertainment side – which I have done on cruise ships and in several Mediterranean countries – to the business as a natural addition to what I was already doing.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I have moved some of my in-person meetings with couples and families online, but only if they have requested to do so.
