What do you love most about your job?
People - cliché, I know! I have worked with some brilliant, creative minds throughout my career and clients who are willing to push the boundaries and take a chance. These people inspire us.
After all these years, we still get excited about a great piece of coverage that we've secured for a client. That's what it was about when we first started out in PR - the world has moved on since then and so have we!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Myself and business partner were often told that if we ever went into business on our own, people would follow. We decided to take a punt three years ago and set-up Mave in Cambridge.
Our focus is on small to medium sized organisations simply because it's much more satisfying helping those with a great product or service tell their story and build their brand.
And the risk has paid off. We have had - and continue to have - the privilege of working alongside some amazing clients on their journey to growth.
Why should our clients choose you?
All too often, communication, media and advertising agencies - particularly those at the top end of town - won’t “get out of bed” for less than £5k per month.
This puts external communication and marketing support out of the reach of many start-up organisations or small businesses. Our view is that every organisation, regardless of size, budget and sector, could benefit from communications and marketing support to help them grow and become more successful - and it shouldn't cost the earth.
Our approach is different. We operate as a collective, bringing in the skills and talent for the job in hand. All the people we work with are highly experienced, passionate freelancers who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in their field. We work with copywriters, web developers, digital experts, creatives, etc.
We all all like-minded and are singularly focused on driving results for our clients. One of the main reason our clients come back to us time and time again is that we're phenomenally loyal - we have a tendency to over-service because we love what we do and like to see companies succeed.
